22 is one of the easier games in the series to catch on and compete being a casual, given that the game doesn't punish bad plate discipline or terrible pitch recognition. If you sit fastball on every pitch thrown to you, without any intention to adapt or to take a pitch when it's on the black, you can still be very successful in this game. So yeah I disagree with almost everything you say. It applied to some games in this series, like MLBTS 16 and even 17, but definitely not 22.

I agree the gameplay is nowhere near where it should be and the game does let you off the hook on some bad swings for sure. However. I’ve now been playing this game most days for 2 years. Not nearly as much as many who have played forever, but certainly more than a casual player. In my league I never so much as held a lead in the first 7 games. It’s still not easy for guys who aren’t super skilled. Especially when playing on HoF.

That's fair, I simply tried comparing this year's game to other installments in the context of OP. And in that context I stand by what I said.

And I am certainly willing to acknowledge when I hit a bomb I didn’t really deserve. That’s why I appreciate you. You can handle a lively debate without it turning sour. You gonna play 23?

Skill can improve just by upgrading from TV to 1ms monitor. And from last generation hardware to new generation hardware. And adding a thumbstick attachment on your left thumbstick. I went from "suck" to "average" adding those 3 things.

The MLB The Show 22 is a highly popular baseball video game that allows players to simulate the experience of being a professional baseball player. While some players excel at the game and can easily dominate their opponents, many struggle to achieve success. This raises the question, why do people suck at MLB The Show 22?

One possible explanation is that the game requires a high degree of skill and knowledge of baseball. Players must understand the nuances of pitching, hitting, and fielding, as well as be able to make split-second decisions in order to succeed. Additionally, the game includes a variety of complex controls and mechanics that require practice and familiarity to master.

Another possible explanation is that the game is highly competitive. The online multiplayer mode of MLB The Show 22 allows players to compete against others from around the world, and the stakes are high. Losing a game can be frustrating and demotivating, which can lead to a lack of enthusiasm for the game and a decline in performance.

Furthermore, the game is constantly evolving. Each new version of MLB The Show introduces new features, mechanics, and strategies, which can be difficult to keep up with. Players who do not stay up to date with the latest changes may find themselves at a disadvantage when playing against others who have adapted to the new game mechanics.

Finally, it is important to consider the human element. People are fallible and prone to mistakes, and this applies to playing video games as well. Even the best players can have off days, make mistakes, or simply not perform up to their usual standards. This is especially true in a game like MLB The Show 22, which requires a high degree of focus and concentration.

In conclusion, there are a variety of reasons why people may struggle with MLB The Show 22. The game requires a high degree of skill and knowledge, is highly competitive, constantly evolving, and subject to human error. However, with practice, dedication, and a willingness to learn, anyone can improve their performance and enjoy the game to its fullest potential.
Have make some great points.... But try to use a different title for this topic. It comes off negatively.

Appreciate you as well. No I will not be playing at launch, I might pick the game up later when it's on sale but the Tech Test actually pushed me further away from this game.

One of the biggest issues people have is not practicing. Yes you can get a monitor over a TV and that will help with Reaction time. But you know what really helps: Take 10 minutes and practice. Turn the sliders all the way up so the fastball looks crazy fast. Use Degrom on fastballs only and practice hitting the 4 corners. Use Burnes for Sinkers down and in. Use Degrom for sliders away. 10 minutes of practice. Get in a BR game and fastballs will appear to be going 88 mph. It's a process, it's cliche' but PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.......OR IN OUR CASE PERFECT PERFECT

Not to sound dramatic or overly bitter, but pretty much everything. I have been hoping for a new completely overhauled MLBTS experience for years and I figured the arrival of next gen consoles would do that. Just like how NBA2K decided to make a dedicated next gen experience, which they totally nailed regardless if you like the game and/or its business model or not. I'm not a big 2K fan either for many reasons, but their next gen games are quality. I give them credit for that.
But as I expected, MLBTS 23 seems like just another lazy copy/paste job with some tweaks and small additions and a lot of messing around with the gameplay parameters/sliders to give us the false pretense of a "new" game, because it feels so different. But it's really not.
I could go into more detail about the specific gameplay what I don't like, but this comment would turn into a case study and nobody wants to read that. My arguments above are what's most important.

I got the OLED Switch so I can grind programs while traveling in the summer. It was also great being able to play the Show while in the hospital last year.

Question, can I use the Nintendo Pro Controller with the Switch console display while traveling?

What? Who are you..one of the developer's trying to make customers feel bad? Putting on a facade that this game has some measure of competition is manipulative and those that "suck" just ain't getting it. Funny you are.

I mean the customer's that don't know any better that it's not how good/bad you are. It's how generous/stingy the AI happens to be during your AB's. You swing a bat, Einstein, that's not brain surgery. After that, it's all about what the AI decides to animate. There ain't no good players or bad players..we're are all players at the mercy of the AI. That simple.
