Drop Diaz down to 86 at the most. Relievers are almost always fungible and Diaz is more fungible than most.
Yeah in hindsight I think you are correct. Also Arenado will probably be more likely to be an 89 over Goldy. With his defense at 3rd compared to first.
Since that drops Diaz out of top 10 I will put Alcantara in at 88.
Still might be too many 90+ to start.

I could see Julio Rodriguez or Ronald Acuna being top 10. Maybe put Zack Wheeler above Alcantara

I feel they are gonna make the younger hitters prove it more. But wouldnt be surprised if either or both those guys were in top 10.
And I would put Scherzer, Verlander or Cole above Alcantara if I put someone. But I am thinking because of age both Scherzer and Verlander might be lower diamonds to start. -
There are usually 7-9 90+ live series to start the year, but tbh the only 3 I'm absolutely confident start there are Trout, Ohtani, and Judge. I think it's fairly safe to assume Degrom as well. For the NL Side it might be simpler to go with 1 from each division tbh, so Harper, Betts, Arenado? Machado could be thrown in the mix too. Diaz is Possible but I don't think Hader ever started 90+ so I would rule him out. Outside of the ones I named I don't think anyone else will be 90+
-
Oh man- predictions are my favorite thing on these forums. Doesn’t mean I’m any good at them but since it’s my 3rd time around the bend- here goes nothing.
Ohtani- 95
Judge- 94
Trout- 93
Arenado-90
Machado-89
JoRam- 88
Verlander-88
Harper- 87
Goldy-87
Yordan- 86
Degrom-86Betts, Trea, Alcantara, Freeman and Soto are good bets to be up there too

I’m sure you’re right as you almost always are. I just don’t get why Degrom would be up there. He hasn’t played a full healthy season in ages. Verlander won his 2nd Cy a young in the last 4 years. But I know it comes down to a lot more than accomplishments.

Kirby Yates took almost 3 years to drop from an 85 to a gold and he didn't pitch a single inning in that time. They don't touch injured guys

Gooood point.

What about Julio? Think he’ll have the ROY curse? I could see him and O’Neill being 90-92.
-
I think Machado will be higher rated than Arenado.
Machado 89
Arenado 88 -

By end of year that is a possibility. I am just talking opening day numbers.

Machado 89
Arenado 88Given where they play in relation to the game studios, you may be right.
Honestly though Machado may have proved to be slightly ahead. I think his rep may be holding him back a bit. And Machado plays great defense, but Arenado is literally another Brooks Robinson.

I think Machado has finally shaken that off. He’s been a true professional since joining the Padres. I really wasn’t a fan after 2018 but somebody obviously pulled him aside and told him to grow up and he has definitely done so. Now he needs to do the same to Tatis. He would have been on this list had he played last year for sure.

I still think Tatis Jr will start as a diamond, I was just hesitant to say 88+ because of, well yeah not playing last season. And changing positions. Going from SS to OF. I could see 85,86.

With 23 just a little over a few weeks away. Anyone want to take a guess at the top 10 Live Series cards to start the year? SInce I brought it up, I will give you my predictions.
- Ohtani 95
- Judge 94
- Trout 92
- Diaz
9087 - Harper 90
- Betts 90
- deGrom 89
Goldy 89Arenado 89- Machado 88
- Alvarez 88
Alcantara 88
Do not forget that they are building the stat based on a 3-year-average (they said that last year).
That means:- I expect Diaz way lower
- Ohtani 95 (because of pitching)
- Judge 91
- DeGrom 93
- Machado 90
never mind the other one (you forgot Vladdy Jr :))
-
I want a 99 ovr FS Ricky Tiedemann card in the first chase pack, he better have 5 outlier pitches and they better not be any of the pitches he actually throws.
-
As An A's fan this is gonna be a depressing game. I doubt they even have a Gold lol
-
I predict that people would complain that someone isn't rated high enough and someone is rated to high.
-
Bryan Reynolds starts the year as an 80 for the Pirates and ends as an 86 for the Rangers

I will complete that collection first. Should only take about 2,000 stubs.
