Striking out on foul balls in RS?
-
I struck my opponent out, but he foul tipped the ball. I saw it and heard it.
Next inning he strikes me out on a foul ball that I saw and heard.
What is going on? Also, when I've been going to the bullpen the screen is stuttering and flickering.
Something isn't right

3rd strike tipped balls that hit the ground have always been strikeouts for at least the last two years since that’s when I started playing. They’ve yet to fix it. Maybe 23?

That's news to me and I've played RS before. It tripped me out to see a strikeout on a foul ball.

That’s immediately what I was wondering as well. From the wording of the original inquiry, it’s almost as if that’s what being described - the reason for asking being that, on a foul tip that is held onto by the catcher (having never hit the batter, the umpire, or ground first), then the batter would be out in this situation. However, a foul tip that falls from the glove, even if Catcher is still behind the plate, is considered a foul ball, not a tip, and should not be a strikeout. This is why we ask - these details make all the difference in this situation.

Nothing to fix. a foul tip caught by the catcher has always been strike 3 in mlb.

Is this a serious question or you trolling?

These weren't foul balls that the catcher caught. They were FOUL BALLS.

Was he bunting? Fouled-off bunts have always counted as 3rd strikes, in both the real world and in The Show.

So we've gone from Foul Tips to Foul Balls.

Foul balls is in the main post
Back foot slider that he makes contact with and it bounces towards the dugout.... strikeout
I swing and tip the ball and it bounces.....strike out
I've been playing this game 10 years and all the sudden I don't know what a strikeout is?
Not once did the catcher catch these foul tips. Y'all will defend this stuff til the day you die

If these were blatant, obvious foul balls and NOT tips, why call it a foul tip, and why even mention that you “heard” it as well as saw it? I’m only curious because those of us who are taking the time to have a conversation with you are doing so for the sole purpose of helping you…nothing more. We’re just trying to understand fully in order to be able to better assist. Using the right terminology is very important in a game like baseball especially due to its myriad idiosyncratic rules, and hence the confusion begins to manifest itself.
That said, if you and your partner are fouling off pitches and it’s landing in the stands while chalking it up as a strike…that’s a MAJOR problem! I wonder what would happen if you fouled off, say, six pitches? Would you get punched out before you got halfway there or would the count be 0-6 haha?
