DH in DD for 23

The DH most likely is a no go for DD. It’s not a programming thing it’s a competitive thing. If you give good players that extra bat the game might be unplayable for the casual gamer. The thing with the pitcher hitting is that introduces strategy and my guess is that it’s the status quo for pitchers hitting in the game next year.

It's actually a rules thing. If we're making it up as we go might as change the name to MLB Street.
Whatever happened to "if it's in the game it's in".....wrong company but you know what I'm saying.

They screwed you on it this year and you’re still here. They had plenty of time to implement it last year and still didn’t. I mean having the pitcher hit is really that big of a deal for you???

There are a lot of things that are not in the game that are in the real game. For example, balks, replays on close calls and my favorite balls on pitches that touch the strike zone box. You’re really going to make the case that you must have the DH at the expense of everyone who isn’t considered to be an elite player. I can live with it either way but you would be eliminating the competitive balance for everyone else that just plays for fun. I mean the game is already unbalanced enough as it is with no PCI homers and other issues such as base running. Why do we need to widen the competitive gap. I mean I personally don’t mind playing close games where each pitch can decide a game. Or conversely each hit can decide a game. At least with pitchers hitting the user must make decisions that can have an affect on the outcome.

I'm tired of hearing that adding the DH is going to throw the "competitive balance" off. What you think all them foul balls are for?? Competitive balance yo

“Still here”? Yes……..I am barely still here, but you’re correct. This year is by far and away the least I’ve played the game since ‘15. So in answer to your question, yes I guess it is that big of a deal to me and that’s ok. It’s ok that it’s not to you.

Must have in the game

They'll have DH in Diamond Dynasty... makes zero sense living in the past. They would make a HUGE MISTAKE sticking with the Pitcher hitting in Diamond Dynasty in 2023... we should get some announcements rolling in starting on Monday if last year is any indication, not to mention 2K announced WWE 2K23 so I'd imagine MLB The Show 23 isn't far behind.
I'm not privy to whatever was said on stream as mentioned by a previous poster but I'd imagine that was in reference to MLB The Show 22 but I could be wrong as I wasn't up on online news the last few years as I only had access to the internet via my phone for a few years.

Keep the DH out of online play. Imagine getting a top player dotting your [censored] with Randy Johnson for 9 innings not having to take him out. Offline sure go for it. But online keep it

Yeah no different than Juan Soto doing the exact same thing in real life until the pitcher grooves him a fastball or hangs the slider. I’d say I’m tired of hearing people complain about fouls balls in a video game but than we would be going around in circles now wouldn’t we?

That would be true if it was actually licensed by MLB but in fact it’s licensed by he MLBPA and has permission from MLB for copyright purposes only. MLB is the trademark not the licensee because the players are a separate entity all together. MLB does not own those rights.

I don't think you understood what I was saying. All those foul balls IS the "competitive balance" at work.
When you're at 46 pitches thru 6 innings and suddenly every batter is fouling off 13 balls. Competitive balance.
This is a MLB game. If you don't think it should go by real MLB rules I don't know what to tell you.
Never thought I'd hear people begging for the pitcher to hit. Crazy to me

I’m just saying it doesn’t bother me either way. I also said that the pitcher hitting just levels the field a bit more than having a goon who can hit no matter who is hitting having the ability to add another outlandish hitter to his team and basically removing any sense of competition for the 90 percent who are just playing the game for fun and it no longer being fun when he can’t get out of the inning because there is nowhere to go for an out. Like I said it doesn’t bother me either way I just don’t see it happening for the reasons I suggested. At this point it’s an opinion not fact.

My two cents is add the DH and eliminate the shift and add the challenge system with occasional botched calls by the umpires added to the programming to make it useful.

If someone can't get anyone out besides the pitcher the designated hitter isn't the problem.
And I suck at hitting. I need all the chances I can get.
