I have found that switching from TV to monitor was the biggest difference in my level of play.

Due to sds, and most other devs, still making games cross gen (able to be played on both ps4 and ps5) the difference between the 2 consoles is... birds lol jk. The load times are better and that's about it.

They say that you can switch to 120hz, which I still think is BS. I say this because it only became an option once playstaion players found out that Xbox users had the ability, so then they did damage control. For the first week of 120hz you could really tell the difference. After that nothing, also ps4 players were [censored] hurt.

It was quite the topic of discussion on here last year. Allowing one console to have a clear advantage (xbox) while hoping the other (PS) never found out. Then for a brief window evening the playing field, only to be met with ps4 players going "hey what about us?".

In general I wish I bought an Xbox instead of a ps5. The ps5 has been a joke console so far to anyone not involved on the stupid console wars.

Edit- also you can turn on vrr with the ps5, but most older tvs and consoles don't support the function.

I too found that switching from a TV to a monitor was the biggest aid to getting better. Switching to a PS5 was a lot prettier and smoother, though, not to mention all the fun new fields to play on.

I just made the switch from PS4 to PS5. The only difference? Birds and stadium creator. Yes, much quicker load times and a lot smoother, but online gameplay wise it's still the same poo poo.

I definitely hope to switch to a monitor for this years game. I saw alot of streamers with them but wasn't really seeing the value in getting one until I hooked my PS4 up to my brother's monitor when I went to update my PS4 over at his place back before I got internet back on at my place... once I get my budget in order for this year I'll see if I can swing that... or if I talk about it enough maybe he'll gift me one for my bday or xmas (lol).

I'm playing God of War Ragnarok right now... gotta say I'm happy with my decision to continue with the SONY PS family of consoles... don't get me wrong I enjoyed my XBox 360 Elite (The Black 360) and my XBox One (that I purchased off my brother when he got the XBox One X) until I had to pawn the 360 and the One is collecting dust at my homegirl's place along with a copy of GTA V... the things we do for love... I might have to "Indian-give" once I move and just let her play it when she comes over... lol

We will see what happens. The only reason I ever switched to playstation was so I could play the Show. Well now, depending on who you ask, the show plays better on Xbox.

GoW and horizon are good games, but my favorite games are Bethesda games... we all see how that went. Now with Microsoft trying to make up for their lack of console exclusives by buying up any and all game competition, who knows what the future looks like.

I'm just really tired of playing ps4 games, but with faster download speeds and slightly better graphics. Take the show for example, a Sony entertainment game, what is your reward for having the newer Sony system?!... birds, and a stadium creator that you will play around with once and then never touch it.

Honestly at this rate we will be having ps6 games being held back by what will then the be old and outdated ps5 software.

funny you should say that because I have never touched the stadium creator at all... lol.

as far as the game playing better on xbox, I have yet to play it and after the initial announcement my brother told me he would play it and sounded hyped about it but then I didn't hear anything else from him about it... I guess with me being a player of the show since PS2 I'd have to play it on xbox to know for you... but it would probably take me getting back used to using the xbox controller before making a determination.

This might be the year that we seeing something really happen with The Show since it'll be the second year on multiple platforms not to mention the developers coming out of the covid restrictions that they had to deal with for the last 2-3 releases of The Show... only time will tell.

VRR on PS5 was the big difference for me.

Does one have to manual change this in game or its just a function of a ps5? I recently made the switch and feel like my timing window is less than it was on ps4. Feel like I'm missing something.

It's in your PS5 settings. Your TV has to be compatible to use it. I tried to change mine, and my monitor wasn't compatible.

You need an HDMI 2.1 compatible screen
