Manager Cards... Stay With Me
-
This could be a simple, fun addition to the game.
You start the season with a "Common" or generic manager.
He acts as a default -- no additions or subtractions to team performance. Then throughout the season, the game offers all-time great managers to add overall performance attribute boosts to your DD Team.
I don't propose anything crazy-- perhaps small contact boosts, or stamina and clutch boosts.Maybe one all-time manager per team. Examples:
Orioles- Earl Weaver (Gold): +2 to player confidence, +2 to pitcher stamina.
Red Sox-Terry Francona (Gold): +2 to clutch, stamina. +1 vision and contact.
Yankees- Joe Torre (99 Diamond): +2 Clutch, Contact, Stamina, Defense. +1 contact, power, vision.
Phillies- Charlie Manuel (Diamond): +2 Contact and Power. +1 Power and Pitching Clutch.
Cardinals- Tony LaRussa (99 Diamond): +2 Pitcher Stamina and Pitch Confidence. +3 Defense all Attributes. +3 Clutch.
Dodgers- Tommy Lasorda (Diamond): +2 All Pitching Attributes. +3 Hitting Clutch, Discipline. +1 Power.
Just a simple idea.
Thoughts?Manager cards as part of season programs?
Manager packs? -
Or Dusty Baker (pick any team he managed) -10 to pitcher health.
-
2K Basketball & NHL has coach cards for MyTeam and HUT, but I never checked to see if some are upgrades or not.
-
I just wish we could customize our managers so it's not the same generic guy
-
Bobby Valentine (Mets) - Everyone on the team automatically equipped with sunglasses and a mustache.
Art Howe (A's) - all attributes reset to 0 after regular season ends. -
Sorry, not a good idea. It will mean more clutter in packs just like the souvenirs in 18.

I like the idea! I agree that the boosts would need to be very, very minor, but it would add a little extra personality.
They should have their own unique animations, too. Rather than just replacing a pitcher, I would want Terry Francona to react like he did when he yanked Trevor Bauer after throwing a ball into the bleachers. I would post a gif, but they all have a no-no word in the captions.

I don’t hAte it. But I’d rather they add a quirk or the boosts be extremely small. We’re already People with 125 contact all that and adding more to it would be eh. I know madden did it for a while and I didn’t mind it but I think the boost really was adding archetypes so you can get a boost
