RF Goose Gossage (R - usually the closer)I’m a little surprised that these are my best players. I have always loved Brooks and Eddie, but from 19-21 I would always platoon Brett and Donaldson. This year, I’m killing it with the first two so Brett and Donaldson. I have never been very good with Harmon in the past (and I have been terrible with Frank this year), but he’s working for me this time. Carew has always been a top 5 player for me every year up until this game. He was doing just OK this year, but Morgan is unreal in 2022. He hits more homers than Ruth or Jimmie. Crazy!
Now that the content is mostly done, I’ve been mixing up how I do things a little. I think this is the team I play best with, and I’m currently using this roster on a Mini Season run. I have a roster of just FS (except for the bullpen), and I am using that team on a USA Conquest map. I’ve also got an all-time White Sox team and my annual “Old Farts” theme team (guys who debuted in the 50s or earlier — and the earlier the better). I will use those two theme teams on new stuff like the Christmas Tree map. I feel like my teams are basically complete except for Christy Mathewson, who I hope somehow still gets a card. I still don’t have Mantle, but I’m pretty close. Once the forever event begins, I think a lot of cards are going to tank and I’ll finish him off. I also need to complete the September MA program (or is it august? No, I think it’s September. Not sure tbh).
I think I have completed more content/programs/missions this year than any other iteration of The Show — but I’ve also played quite a bit less this year than I have in previous seasons. Was content a little light this year?
I hope in 2023 we can store more than 4 rosters. There’s no reason why we can’t have unlimited rosters going at once. I would really like to have an 1980s-1990s theme team and an Arizago Diamondsox roster (there aren’t enough D-backs for an all-time team, so in previous years I combined forces with the white Sox). It would also be nice to have more rosters so I could have a Finest team, MS team, SS team, etc etc so I could work toward program goals and Mini Seasons missions without messing up my other 4 teams.
