Hi, any tips/tricks on how to get stolen bases against the CPU?

The only way I'm able to get 99 Miguel Cabrera from the Ghosts and Ghouls program is to get 10 SBs since I can't do the event mission anymore.

    TIA

Put Lou Brock in your lineup.

    Go.

More important than taking an extra step lead to me has been waiting for a 2 ball count.
You can also steal 3rd with two outs pretty easily against the CPU with 70+ speed. In this case you can take a free extra step and go on any pitch. Even better if you have 1st and 2nd 2 outs with decent speed on 2nd. You get 2 steals and they always go for the lead runner

If you get a first & 3rd situation, 78 speed and up will make a 2nd base steal attempt almost every time.
Try to use guys with high steal ratings.
Always take the first pitch if you get a 93+ speed guy on. Sometimes they try to get slick and pitch out on the 2nd or 3rd pitch. Tricksters! 🤪
I don't know if it's an official speed burst button, but rapidly tapping L1 after takeoff seems to help. Maybe it's just psychological.

If you’re playing the CPU, hold down R2 and then take an extra step (L1). Then press L2 quickly (your controller will vibrate). Wait for the runner to settle in before releasing R2. If the catcher has a good arm, I will usually press L2 and L1 alternately when I want him to go. Another note, the higher the stealing attribute, the sooner he’ll take off, and vice versa.

I literally loaded all the 99 speed and 90+ stealings i could. played in the biggest custom field i could. only ran singles. and just kept spamming L2, i did it in 5 innings.

It helps to have runners on base a lot.
