I noticed, at least in RTTS, as you progress in your career, you’ll notice new managers and coaches having the same number as a player, or a number that has already been retired on your team, as my current Yankees 3rd base coach has Phil Rizzuto’s number 10! I also have a teammate that’s number 20, which was retired for Jorge Posada!!! I also noticed new players stealing numbers from existing players! For example, Gerrit Cole was forced to switch his number to 52, and Gleyber Torres had his number changed various times from 25 to 29, then 30, then back to 25!!!

I would like to also assign a number to the deadball guys that have no jersey number. It just looks stupid to have all the players with names and numbers except one or two guys who have a name, but no number.

I then tried to go with no names on the back to see if it looked better, but it looks just as stupid, because then your guy has nothing on the back of the jersey. Considering in RBI baseball back in the early 00's you could edit a player's number so if you picked up a pitcher that had #34 and you already had a guy with that number you could change the number for one of the guys with that number and it would let you choose any of the unused numbers available.

If you had a deadball guy you could then assign a number with any of the numbers left. You could also edit the MLB players uniforms to have all the players go with low pants, high pants, stirrups, no stirrups, all long sleeves or no sleeves, etc.

If this could be done 20 years ago, SDS can put a crowbar in their wallets and do this now.

I definitely don’t want players that didn’t have numbers to suddenly have one. That would be as bad as putting names on the back of NYY jerseys.

And that's a personal choice. I personally prefer to be similar to what the Giants did, and I don't know if they still do, but they had names on the road jerseys but only numbers on the home jerseys.

I just like what the word unform implies. Uniformity.
