Your argument is invalid you can see the window you have to change the setting off of auto. It clearly says that in the patch notes that I read every time one drops. You know so I know what changes and how to fix it if something changes.
Some offline franchise players like playing auto fielding, that is what he is talking about I think.

To some of you who play the game the way YOU like to play the game -
It's not invalid, some of us dont like to deal with baserunning when playing offline, but you still need to know where they are and what they're doing or take control on the fly.

Seriously since 17 the game has been progressing to online play. Doing very little for offline if nothing at all and beefing up DD. That’s where their money comes in so it’s not surprising. DD is more money in the pockets of SDs if everyone played offline franchise they would lose a lot and I mean a lot of money so they invest and gear towards where the money comes in

What a horrible decision!
When fielding, I now can't tell if a runner has decided to run and impedes my decision on which base I should throw to.
When running, I can no longer decide to override the auto-baserunning decision. And I have no idea if I'm about to score on a Sac fly from 3rd as I can't see the runner (let alone an indication on where he might be between bases).
There seems to be no reason why this function had to be removed.
Suddenly, The Show 19 becomes a much more enjoyable game to play.
