Just got the new Series X, have been playing on a One.
Is the digital upgrade to X version worth it? Is there any real difference besides the stadium creator?

Do you have Xbox Live to play online? You can convert up to 3 years of Xbox Live to Game Pass Ultimate for $1. Three years of Game Pass would cost $181, and thats if you dont get the Live subscription on sale. Even if you play nothing but MLB The Show, if they continue to put that game on Game Pass going forward you would either break even with last gen purchases ($60 per game) or save money compared to buying the Series S/X version.

That's all assuming you weren't already paying for PS+ or Live to play online. If you would purchase that anyway, there is really no reason not to upgrade.

Alas, but no. I've been offline for a while now. I used to play COD but since we've moved the internet hasn't been up to it.

You need internet to play DD.

Either way, with 2022 almost finished I wouldn't spend much to upgrade to X version. Unless maybe you can get it for 10 bucks.

The Series X version is on sale for $10 at Best Buy right now. I actually bought a copy yesterday since I know it will probably come off of Game Pass when the new game comes out just like 21 did.

Edit: It currently says unavailable right now, so it may be temporarily sold out. I feel like Best Buy does that a lot with Black Friday sales. I'm sure another allotment of them will be available as we get closer to Black Friday.

Yes, I have an internet connection, but don't have a Live account anymore.

Man, I didn't think about it being delisted. Maybe I should pick it up digitally on sale right now.

Edit: So I see MLB The Show 21 is still available for purchase. Do these games eventually get delisted entirely, or just removed from Xbox? For example, Forza games tend to have limited licenses for cars and music, so they get taken off the store entirely after a couple of years. I'm sure I'll like the next edition and hope it's on Xbox, but if I don't or wanna play my old RTTS character I might wanna buy 22 permanently.

I think the oldest MLB The Show game listed on the Playstation store is 19. 17 and 18 were both on PS4, so its not like they were delisted for being from the 360/PS3 gen. If I had to guess, they might delist them as the servers go down since 18 can no longer be played online. You probably have a few years before it comes off the online store.

Thanks. I may just pick it up for $17 right now. It looks like MLB the Show 21 isn't going on sale anymore, and there's no guarantee 23 will be on Game Pass (unless MLB demands Playstation put it on the service). Since I just got the game on Switch and am really enjoying the cloud save function to play on both systems, I may as well ensure I can do that going forward.

No is the short answer. Game doesn’t look much better. Still the same poor legend renderings they’ve had since I can recall. They’re spread too thin , like most developers doing cross platform and all. That’s why we have so very few genuine next Gen developed games. They’re almost all cross Gen , and as long as they are cross Gen unless load times are plaguing you , it isn’t worth it
