Walter Johnson pitch mix…

He looks like an amazing pitcher with those stats and 2 outlier pitches in the fastball + sinker. Problem is his change up balls sucks. Curveballs are not that hard to identify against a good player nor is a change up that effective. There’s no side movement in his pitch mix. If he had a slider or slurve he’d be the best pitcher in the game in my opinion.
How do you guys view him? I have 3.1 mil coins and have no problem spending a mil on a end game pitcher but for him to have no side movement on his pitches is a big turn off especially for a mil.

Don’t buy him he’s easy to hit every year and having 2 outlier pitches means he’s has 1 outlier pitch you can select with 2 different buttons. Plus it takes like 30 seconds each pitch for.him to finish his goofy windup and actually throw the ball.

A card that we always want to do try, but with no lateral Movement pitches and the 2 outliers being too close in speed, just doesn’t work.

That actually makes sense on having 2 outliers not really being beneficial. Also idk who he is and never seen him pitch so I don’t know about him wind up lol

He might have one the worst pitch mixes as a starter. I’d rather him have a slider than a curveball. Curveballs might be the worst pitch in the game imo. Him having outlier is a plus though. I haven’t used him this year so this is all speculation. I could be way off.

He was my best pitcher 2 years ago. But outlier was a bit more OP. He could also swing the bat a bit. Looks like they nerfed his power a bit this year.

Chapman used to have two outliers when it was first introduced, luckily they dropped the one on his sinker. Like it has been said, it gives less of a speed difference and blends them into a single pitch. Johnson is hard and annoying to control with his wind up. As I have stated in another post, I would have to IBB the first batter of every inning just so I can use him from the stretch. Of course you don’t really want to do that, just making a point on how annoying his windup is.
