SDS Quit Changing Difficulties, Sliders, Pitch Speeds.

Your point is a very practical one, Eatyum. My optimistic take on this is that something closer to HOF pitch speed across the board would initially upset the under 700 players.
That said, over time, players can adjust if the speeds remain constant. There would no doubt still be different PCI sizes, which is not a terrible thing, imo.
It’s kind of a moot point, because unfortunately, your take about SDS trying to please everyone is probably accurate.
I DO think it would be a better game though with a universal pitch speed, and the only adjustment required being from pitcher to pitcher, like in the MLB.

I’ve been lobbying for this for a long time. I want one universal pitch speed. Change the pci according to difficulty, but for the love of god……..one pitch speed! I don’t care which they choose.

A real sport doesn’t Fn change. An Esport should not either. Shooting game esports don’t F with the GD settings all the FN time so SDS shouldn’t either.
For the love of all that is holy stop. Maybe if you went with one set of pitch speeds, timing windows, pci sizes you could produce a halfway decent product where the mechanics were close to being legitimate.

Esports change all the time. Heck they are still releasing balancing patches for StarCraft 1 for Pete’s sake. Which would “change the sliders” as you put it. Almost any game that is played online modifies the game during its play cycle.

I'd prefer HOF pitch speeds to be universal. Just change the pci size and slightly increase the timing window for lower difficulties.

You know, after playing a bunch of franchise mode today, it seems pretty clear to me that the manipulation of pitch speeds is programmed into the game for a reason.
As much as we, the players, may want consistency in gameplay, I don’t believe that is in the interest of SDS.
Disappointing.

You want Rookie to be the same speed as all star, HOF and legend?

Difficuly on any setting does not matter online especially in Ranked Season where laws of physics and nature do not apply half the time and the other half you spend with your pockets turned inside out reading you have been disconnected from the Shooooo online or your looking like a Looney Toons donkey while your freeze glitched with a 6 run lead.Its the Adams Family Christmas and Santa vrs the flying saucers production team.

I want consistency as far as rookie, veteran, all-star, HOF, & Legend are the same in every mode. All-star in a showdown shouldn't be different than vs. Cpu or online. I want consistency on the sliders. Moments shouldn't be made more difficult by adjusting the sliders. If they want it harder, change it to all-star, hof, or legend. I don't think a universal pitch speed is a good idea. It would make too many people unhappy. Personally I would like it but only because I am older and my reaction times are getting worse by the year. I used to make World Series but just can't compete online anymore as the pitch speeds are too fast for me now.

That's not true. All star is very much different depending on the mode. Events at all star difficulty are often different as well depending on how they have adjusted the sliders. If you look at the sliders in the settings, you will see that pitch speed is one of them.
