Just lost an event game in extras where I outhit my opponent 5-2.
I thought I had him in the bottom of the fourth when, ahead by a run, I got Griffey to hit a groundball to short with the infield in and runners on the corners.
Struck out the last hitter to end the inning. I was surprised that the game went to a fifth inning. I’m like, “is this event 6 innings?”
But no, I forgot there was no force at the plate with first and third, one out. Threw home and then to first. Sigh.
It’s the little things.
