I've been wanting to Get the Show 20, because I mainly play the game for RTTS. I've been playing since the show 16 (I'm currently in the 2026 season for A 3B and an SP), and was thinking of buying 20 To help with the whole stay inside thing with you know what going around. but After reading some of the posts in here. Should I hold off?

It sounds like RTTS 20 is worse than 19's this year.

What are some of the reasons I should and shouldn't get it?

As a mainly RTTS player, it has its pros and cons. With the tweaks they've made, I'm personally glad I bought it. Sure, it's not perfect and is arguably a worse game, but I honestly didn't have that high of hopes for many new features with them adding complete minor league rosters (Tim Tebow is in the game). That and it's the last one they aren't going to be focused on making it for a new system. There wouldn't be much of a point for it to be completely different, since they've had years to toy with that on the PS4.

What is it you are expecting? We can confirm or deny any assumptions you might have. What do you like or dislike about RTTS 19?

Each individual’s expectations are different so there’s no point me saying it’s worth it and expecting that to be useful. Hopefully I can help out though 🙂

    ^^^^^^^

That's why I replied like I did. I'm happy to help still though on specific questions comparing them. I mostly just play 2nd base, so if it's a position specific question, I may not be the best one to answer.

The mode is basically the exact same thing. Still do the topps showcase, draft is still busted, the presentation is basically the same, the "story is the same" lol see where I'm going here? The instant gains are rather pointless and the "friendship meter" I pay zero attention to. it's a nice touch. But to be the "big feature" for this years version is a joke. The gameplay in some aspect are better. I think hitting is harder. But that sounds of the crack the bats make this year is sooo rewarding. Field is better. But there is a weird issue I've had where you line up to catch a ball and you're player feels like they are on rails. I've lost a lot of games because a simple fly ball was missed due to this broken animation or whatever.

Really is comes down to do you want to pay more money for updated roster and sightly improved gameplay. Everything else is the exact same. I bought this game for the same reason. Locked inside and bored. I have played it a lot. But that isn't because it's a wonderful game. It's good, not great. But it does feel that baseball void somewhat

And incase you're wondering. I'm a really big RTTS show guy. But I played MTO a lot. Don't get excited for that. They hyped up trades and minor league roster. You still have min control. You have zero control over call ups and down. You get some more trade offers. But it's still very underwelming.

    That's a good question actually.
    Thank you.
The perks are still like they are in 19, right?
Because I know they overhauled them from 18 to 19.
I liked the simplicity of progression from 19 too.

    What about the Relationships?
That was a cool addition to 19 I liked it a lot.

The perks are still there (as in the perk tree) and you still get to choose which ones you apply to your player in the same way. As far as I’m aware they are the same perks, although last year I was a position player, this year I’m using a pitcher. I really like the way perks are done without being overpowering. So that hasn’t changed from 19.

By progression do you mean attribute progression or player progression (AA->MLB)? Both are basically the same as last year although attribute progression has been strengthened with more training options. A pitcher for example can now add or replace pitches through training selections. It’s further strengthened within in-game challenges by telling you which attributes and or caps (yes you can increase caps in-game by nailing a challenge) will be affected with the challenge goal you choose which is really well done.

Player progression hasn’t changed much, I’m reading various opinions about call ups being too soon or not soon enough. I’m going to guess that I’ll feel it’s too soon as my SP got called up to AAA after about two months of terrible pitching. The Chihuahuas must seriously have a big hole in their rotation for me (with an ERA of about 6.5 in AA) to be called up.

If you liked relationships in 19 I really think you’re going to love it in 20. It’s a really cool feeling seeing that rivalry icon appear above a batter’s head when you’ve struck him out swinging! Plus the relationships actually mean something to in-game performance/attributes, even more than the perks.

It’s quite a well-rounded system and will probably get even better next year.

They are all quite subtle improvements but they do make it a more enjoyable experience if you really like to feel a part of the RTTS universe.

Definitely some opportunity for improvements to be made in other areas (eg more variety in interactions, ability to call manager or agent just to name two) but enough to breathe some life into it I think.

    Hope this helps.

One more really cool thing that I like is that your max cap on every attribute is 99 now. They no longer limit its max potential based on archetype. Sure the things your not good at go up VERY slowly, but it's still awesome that by the time I'm 6-7 years in I can 90+ in every stat... and 12 discipline.
