If you pick the rain when you're the home team, just know I don't wish you any well in any of your future endeavours and absolutely despise you

What is the point of them picking 'rain'?

You pick your ballpark, time and conditions before it finds a match. If it determines you are home (based on connection), you get the ballpark, time and conditions you chose.

No idea what it does for certain (I'm sure someone else might).

In my head I like to think people picking rain are trolling or they think the rain makes it harder to see? Not sure if it has any effect on ground ball speed or carry (it might have some behind the scenes effects I dont know about).

But what I don't get is if they pick it because it makes it harder for their opponent to do something; doesn't it make it harder for them as well?

I never pick the rain, but it doesn't bother me when other people do.

What does bother me is when people pick overcast at laughing mountain with a pitcher that has an over the top delivery. White ball traveling through a white background. In BR a week or so ago someone tried that with Adam Wainwright and I couldn't see the ball until it was practically in the glove. I just kept swinging early and hoped for the best. I think I scored 5 runs and won, although I have no idea how.

I imagine it works similar to those who pick like 4PM in July for certain stadiums to create a sun/shade issue with certain release points. They might have the same issue if the person they play also uses certain pitchers.

My guess is that they play there all the time and are used to it while most of us play either in the day or at night with clear/overcast skies.

    Who knows.

I wish they would just adjust the batters eyes in the minor league stadiums to be big enough to cover all release points. The stadiums aren't real so no issue imo.

I think many guys intentionally use TOXIC stadium settings and then calibrate their TV or Monitor brightness and contrast settings to where it is playable for them knowing it will be unplayable for almost all of their opponents.

On older consoles, if the connection isn’t good, the rain can cause some lag. It doesn’t seem to be as bad this year though. I can’t stand the guys who pick stadiums/times where you can’t pick the ball up. Toxic players are 100% the biggest issue with this game

I rarely play online due to connection issues but in general offline I always play overcast or in the rain. I just like that weather better 🤷

I feel like I can see the weather better with overcast, there's less glare.

The glare can be unbearable. I’ve tried adjusting the brightness on my monitor, but it doesn’t do anything bc I am dimming the ball too. Wonder if sunglasses would work lol?

Not sure if this is certain but ball seems to carry less in rain

In the accesibility screen invert the colors, the baseball will become black and easy to track.
