So only Aug 2022 POTM cards count for the "August Monthly Awards Hitters" PXP. Kinda wish they would include that. As I was using Brandon Lowe, Kyle Lewis and Gio Urshela to help out and they arent.

Pretty sure it says August in the second line of the objective description.
Yep, sure does. But doesnt say 2022.

I’m not on my console; but in the program, doesn’t it say get whatever XP with June monthly awards hitters? I could be wrong, but I thought there is something that tells you.
Edit: I did not see that someone answered you.

It just says June, but I never noticed using non 2022 June cards that they werent counting and so on for other Months. But My August guys, Lowe, Urshela and Lewis arent counting for August.
Not really a big deal, just more of an FYI to others in case they are in the same boat as I was. They might not have counted all season and I didnt notice, IDK lol.

To be clear its players from THAT program, throwbacks from years past except for the retro headliner dont count.

That is clear now. But since that one card counts it seems the others would have. They made this clear in other programs. For example the All Star ones. It specifically said if you had to use 2022 All Stars it would say "2022 All Stars" and if you could use any All Star it would just say "All Star". That is where the confusion comes from.
