Extreme Showdown can be done

For those struggling or if you already decided to stop trying, it can be done! The first couple of days when Extreme dropped I probably went 0-10 on Showdown and I never even made it to Chapman. I usually have no problems completing Showdown and I was so frustrated I decided I would complete everything else and then just get the extra 75k in PXP for Donaldson.
Yesterday I was grinding the event and it seemed like almost every opponent had Donaldson. Some of those opponents didn’t even seem like they were very good players(based on Ranked records, batting averages, etc.). I decided to give it another go and after two quick exits, was able to lock in and get it done on my third try back. Maybe the extra motivation of “if they can do it, I can do it too” helped or maybe SDS made it easier lol. Either way I’m glad it’s done and Donaldson is now in my lineup. If you’ve taken a few days away from it, I’d say give it another shot.
I started a bit slow with him in the event, but in his first Ranked game on HOF, he went 3 for 4 with 3 HR. Hard to make room for all the elite 3B, but he’s a welcomed addition.

Yep, I don’t consider myself great and beat it on my 3rd try last weekend after Chapman got me the first 2.
Just about seeing the ball early and patience.

It’s weird, but I felt like if you have patience the final 3 Bosses on HOF are the easiest. They threw the most pitches out of the zone to me and I’d either take the walk or get ahead and they’d groove one.

Hey man, about the event game the other day, gg. Good games against you as usual. I just moved Brett to 1B to make room for Donaldson. I kinda like it now to have a 1st that can get to foul balls and weak popups to shallow RF.

If you're not great, I'm not sure I even classify as bad. I will try but my guess is I will pass 1 or bosses max.

Yea definitely man, I’ve only matched up with a few different names I’ve recognized from the forums and you and I have matched a few times already. I did the same thing in Ranked after I got Donaldson. Hard to squeeze him in with Brett, Chipper, Riley, etc.

Wait… just to follow up on one point… if I finish conquest and all the moments and Kerry Wood missions, do I really only need to complete the 25K pxp mission three times and then I’ll have Donaldson? Is that math correct?

I’m not on my console right now. I think I had already completed the 25k PXP once and I believe I was at 91 program points and had Cano. So I think you’d have to complete it 4X to complete the whole program but I’m not 100% sure.

That’s still very doable! I haven’t even attempted showdown, so I just assumed I wouldn’t be getting JD until like April or something. This gives me a little more to grind toward! Brett and Donaldson are the best platoon in the game.

Tip from my experience- don’t attempt extreme showdown after grinding a full mini season on veteran difficulty lol. Chapman is going to feel impossible

I thought it was 5x for the 25k pxp's, which is still doable:
Complete all missions: 30 points
Kerry Woods parallel 5: 30 points
Conquest: 25 pointsThat's 85. I have finished one 25k repeatable mission, so I think I have 4 left to get Donaldson (one more for Cano).
Someone call me out if my math is wrong...
