Return of the 90’s braves?

They are absolutely stacked. I think the dodgers 1-4 is better than the Braves, but the Braves look pretty solid 1-8 right now

I think the Braves rotation is stronger as well, thats is just my opinion though. I am sure the Dodgers have some studs stashed away somewhere in their system but for now I think the Braves rotation looks like its going to be very good for a very long time.

72M is childs play these days. Aaron Loup had 1 good season and got 17 M for 2 years. Hell my Tigers paid Baez 6 years 140 mil and he has been absolute garbage all season

It's not the money or the length of the contract. It's that he has played 74ish games his ENTIRE MLB career.
Loup and Baez have tons more.

The Braves are a really good team and will be for years to come but the best rotation in baseball line made me laugh. Mets and Dodgers have had the best rotations this year. The NL East is gonna be very interesting for the next few years because the Mets might finally be sustainably good for a few years and the Braves continue to be the Braves. Phillies aren't as bad as they played at the beginning of the year and the Marlins have some good young players.

Now that the Mets have an owner that is willing to spend money, they may also be good for some time. The Dodgers are going to be on top of the NL for a while, it is what they do in the playoffs that makes or breaks them. However, as the saying goes, “There is a reason they play the games.” I do give Atlanta credit that they made and won the World Series. They were missing Acuna for half the season too.

Who Michael Harris? Yeah, it's a bit risky. But the Braves have the money and if it pays off, that nucleus is the best of any NL team for a decade. The Dodgers have some insane players too but the Braves have the youth with Acuna, Albies, Harris and Grissom. And that's not including Riley who has become a top 5 hitter in the league, Olson who is great as always. And loads of pitchers. The Braves are the exact opposite of the Padres, everyone who comes through their organization seems to be amazing. The Pads never have great players come through the system save for Tatis who they traded for and as great as he is, it's had to play when you take roids and crash motorcycles.
Sorry, I'm from SD and the Padres make me sad. It's why I followed my parents into Cardinals Fandom. Well, that and they were my source of food and shelter growing up so it was beneficial to do as I was told.

I didn’t say best rotation in baseball, just think ATM they have a stronger rotation than the Dodgers, with Beuhler going down and May just coming back. Kershaw is aging and while Gonsolin is having a good year I can’t see him doing that year in year out. All that being said only time will tell, but the braves rotation is looking like it will be a strong rotation for a long time.

My bad, I disagree as far as them having the best rotation at the moment but they will definitely have a strong rotation for the next few years. Strider is only going to get better and he's already striking people out left and right.

The 90s Braves had numerous no doubt hall of fame players in their core. They won 14 straight division titles.
The Braves of today have a long way to go before I’d make that comparison.

Braves had plenty of failed prospects along the way. Sean Newcomb , Luis Gohara , Lucas Sims ( as a starter ) Kolby Allard , among others. Jury still out on some of these guys but they took pitching in trades and in drafts. They’ve hit the jackpot elsewhere that has allows The lineup to look good. Acuna Jr and Albies were both international signees , neither highly regarded. Riley was a second or third round pick , Harris Ii was a 16th rounder? Swanson was really the most highly regarded position player , he was drafted by the dbacks. Fried was drafted by the Padres and traded for Upton I think. Morton was a FA signing. Matzek was a trash heap collection , along with Jackson Stevens and Dillion Lee. Scouting and management have been amazing at finding under the radar guys don’t get me wrong , but a lot of luck happened too.

Depends on how you define good. They might win more WS, as that was the flaw of the 90s team. But there’s no chance of them matching the regular season consistency of success.

The main problem with the Braves this year is how much they strike out. They rely a lot on the long ball. That's why the Mets have been good this year, they work the count and have long at bats. To say I'm not scared of the Braves as a Mets fan would be a lie but I'm confident in this Mets team.

Braves had Smoltz, Maddux, Glavine, and Avery who stayed good (and healthy!) for a decade. There’s no way to predict whether the current starters can match both the production and durability as of yet.
