Are the number of innings base on how many innings a pitcher completes?

Does anyone know how they calculate innings.

I pitched Randy 7 innings than used a couple different pitchers in the 8th and 9th. I only got 7 innings for a 9 inning game.

I didn’t bat in the bottom. I should have gotten 8 innings by my count.

I wish SDS would explain this

Pitchers have to pitch a complete inning. So if you used multiple in the 8th then you didn’t get credit for it. It makes no sense and SDS has not addressed it.

It's game innings. You could pitch 1 inning per pitcher and complete the game. And it still counts as nine innings.

I've played games on ranked and the only time I didn't get 9 inning credit was when the other player quit or got disconnected
