Duke had a card last year too in the TA. The one with 99 Mantle also had Duke.
I expect him to get a 99 at some point as well but my guess is it'll be a finest card to make people want to use him more.
What packs are we really expecting from the shark map?Yeah he was in TA 4. I liked all the Twitter people acting like he was some made up person as they obviously know very little about baseball. The Duke of Flatbush. Looking forward to this card.
He's in the HOF. Made up person LOL. I have a general dislike of the Dodgers but I give the ones from the 50's a break (Duke/Jackie) I really didn't start disliking them until 1966 LOL

Not even Kirk Gimp-son?

Right? My grandpa was born and raised in Brooklyn so I grew up on stories of Joe Black, Jackie, Snider, Pee wee, Gil Hodges, Roy Campanella etc etc.
What a team.

Ok so in 1963 when I was 8 years old, I was watching the game of the week (B&W TV) and saw this guy get walked and sprint to first base. I wanted to be just like him. It was Pete Rose in his rookie year. The next year I had my mom find out how to sign me up for Little League because I had to play organized ball somehow. She signed me up and I went to my first tryout and was drafted by the Minor Giants. I read the newspaper box scores every day and learned about Willie Mays, Willie McCovey and the rest of the Giants but in the back of my head there was still Pete Rose and the Reds so I kept close track of them too. After my first year in LL I decided to try out for the Majors at 10 years old but it was a longshot because that was usually 11 and 12 year olds. I was drafted by (YES) the Cincinnati Reds in the Majors. My dream had come true. Back in those days whatever team chose you, you stayed on that team until you finished your 12 year old season. We weren't that great and finished 5th out of 6 teams. The next year when I signed up, I was told that there weren't enough kids that signed up so the 5th and 6th place finishers from the year before (Reds & Cubs) would be eliminated and we would be placed on one of the last 4 remaining teams which were the Giants, Cards, Braves and Dodgers. You guessed it I was placed on the Dodgers. It shouldn't have made me dislike a team for life hey its just Little League. The coach who took over the team was never there and we almost never had practice. He had marriage issues so he had his dad practice with the team and coach us and poor guy knew nothing about the game. We lost and lost and it was miserable as a kid. So I thought well my 12 year season has to be better than this but no they let the same guy coach, he was never there and we had his dad again. And we lost and we lost etc etc. On top of this I almost quit because they tried to make me a catcher and I hated the tools of ignorance. So to this day the sour experience I had with the Major Dodgers as a 11 and 12 year old carried on my entire life. I ended up being the starting SS for our All Star team that summer. Eventually played high school ball with a future HOFer, won the State Championship as a senior and got a full ride to a D1 and played there 4 years. I know it probably sounds stupid to dislike a team from your childhood but that's how I learned to dislike the Dodgers lol

Doris Kearns Goodwin has a great book on Dem Bums. You should probably read some of her other books too…
Wait till next year is fantastic. I've been on a major baseball book kick. Any other suggestions? I just read Stan Musial An American Life and thought it was solid.
Also, I really Ike Tom Verducci's 'The Cubs Way' if you haven't read it which I'm sure you have.

What did they do in 1966?
Its a long story to type out but I can if you would like to read a book LOL.
Now my curiosity has turned into have to know
Ok so in 1963 when I was 8 years old, I was watching the game of the week (B&W TV) and saw this guy get walked and sprint to first base.
