Honestly, they might be able to solve a lot of the discontent if they just called it what it is. This baseball game is equal parts skill and slot machine luck. I definitely believe skill is a major factor, otherwise I'd do well online , or be even slightly competitive. Trust me though, from the perspective of a bad player, while the game rewards bad input and helps the underdog to a degree, we still lose 90% of the time.
Agree. In ranked, if you’re good enough and consistent with your input, you have enough time to overcome some bad breaks that go against you
But in 3 inning games? No reason for the ridiculous amount of randomness when it can decide the game for one player.

It really is bad. I mean I’m still going to play and I’ll buy 23 when it comes out cause I love baseball. Last night I did the showdown and won on a 2 run bomb by piazza. But here is the head scratcher, George Brett vs Rollie fingers righty vs lefty, Forkball I was a little low on, but the whole ball was in my PCI and a good swing just slightly before perfect pop up to the catcher, Piazza right vs righty, again forkball little lower on where half the ball was out of the pci again slightly before perfect was a no doubter. Now I don’t have their numbers but it doesn’t make sense. I also had saved up 72 regular packs 18 ballin packs 13 headliners, and 4 of the headliner super packs….0 diamonds. This is what gets me. Not one diamond, not even a park or equipment or jersey nadda.

100% agree with you. I have never once said no skill is involved…there is 100% skill involved but there is a large percentage of randomness mixed in. It comes as a result of clutch, pitcher confidence, BB/9, etc. I think the absolute best of the best not only have insane stick skills, but also know how to manage all the randomness as well. I honestly feel I have gotten better at working around some of these things this year, but I am not the greatest at managing them and I definitely don’t have the stick skills to be great.
This game has caused me to do the unthinkable twice over the past week and that is pull a Tony LaRussa. I have twice intentionally walked hitters with two strikes on them. At least the last time and maybe both times it was 99 Brett. Got two quick strikes and then after about seven straight foul balls I issued the walks. I have played this game long enough to know if I keep trying to put them away it is not going to go in my favor, because at some point there will be a floater over the middle.

Hahahahaha, not the LaRussa. Yeah, there's no doubt the RNG rears it's ugly head in times like that.

What y’all crying about today
Anything and everything we want, but your statement is flawed. You can’t possibly determine if someone is crying.
