Leaving the mlb team and his position out of it, my friend had just played in his first mlb game and I wanted to know how long it takes to get a card for him? He was in last years game but haven’t seen him in this years.

That's awesome, congratulations! I think if he was added to the MLB roster, he would be added to the game on the next roster update, depending on timing it may be a future roster update. They usually show up under newly added players.

Remind your friend he had to fill out the MLBPA paperwork before he’s added. Typically, the roster update window closes 36 hours before the update. So if he debuted Wednesday night (and got his paperwork in), he should be in the Friday update.

Yeah, usually it is the next update, assuming it is more than a day or two away, but there have been occasions where it took much longer due to the MLBPA red tape.

Do they have to do it every year? His card has been in the game the last yea for two. I have no idea on what’s required.

I think the red tape may only be on the first call up to the majors. So if he has had a card in the past then you probably just need to wait for the next update

Just curious but why wouldn't he be in the game as a minor leaguer since they added them in last years game and continued with this years game?

That's cool nonetheless but wouldn't he already be in the game, especially if he's still active and was in last years game?

I can only assume there’s different rules for adding major and minor leaguers. I know of a couple guys last year who never made the show but were still added to The Show. (Kade Scivique, Kramer Robertson, Zach Hess). Kramer finally made it this year, but his 22 card wasn’t added until his call-up.

That’s what confused me because he was on the minor roster last year for the game and nothing changed to my knowledge. The only change was he got called up to play and his card hasn’t even been in the game at all so idk

Any chance you can reveal who the player is? I’d love to follow his progress.
