Have you had success with the collection reward Joe Mauer?

I was planning on using a lot of my stubs on the new Takashi cards, but the 4 players so far are not really ones I want. The main weakness of my team is a catcher, I've tried a ton but none of them have worked out. That 96 Mauer looks tempting, but I don't want to lock in 100k on a dud of a card.
Curious how those who have Mauer have done with him,

Small sample size so far but he has a nice swing and good pop even with his power attributes at a base level
Might as well pull the trigger since C is a position of need for you. You’ll also need him to get Brett unless you choose to skip the cover athlete collection

Yup Had him since he dropped. Great card. I just don't use him as much because Gary Carter is my favorite player of all time. Still, that 96 Mauer has a great swing

Thanks for the help guys! I have used the 88 version and I did like his swing, just didn't get the results. I'm going to go for him, sounds like he will be an upgrade for me.

This post just saved me from doing the same as the OP here. I have always loved Jimmie Foxx cards.

I just got him but I was wondering if i should move him to first because I have the 95 Henry Davis parallel 3.

I like him but honestly he is not a whole lot better than Adley and Adley can switch hit. The lefty pitching meta has really neutralized the left handed heavy batting lineup. I keep going back to JT because he has pop time.

Been solid for me. He will hit you doubles all day. Some of those will be doubles to LF/CF wall and some will be double plays.

I use the 88 Piazza. I hit well with him and he has a good arm to throw out runners.

I like Gary Carter, but the collection isn't cheap to unlock him if your not already doing LS.
