Madden is a great game. The franchise is so strong with supporters. They have been in the game for how long....
That's right far longer then San Diego has.....
EA will get it done.
I hope this was sarcasm. Madden is a great game? I have played every version of Madden since day 1, they last 2 or 3 years the game has gotten progressively worse to the point where it's practically unplayable now. This was the first time in its history I didn't own it day 1, I waited until it was free on EA Play. I barely played it this year at all.
So strong with Supporters? Most people trash this game on both the main community forums worse than they trash SDS here.
The big difference is EA has exclusive NFL rights and has no reason to improve the game every year. They put 100% of their effort into sucking money out of us. I think I disagree with people trashing Madden on forums worse than here though if that's what you meant... the negativity here is worse imo... you could even go to both forums right now and compare, but I feel like the negativity here is worse. The only real complaint I have about the Show is how bad the servers are and how tough it is to enjoy online games consistently. I have zero issues online in MUT and I play that more online than this by a lot. It's good for any of us to have SDS and EA competing for our revenue though... makes them both have to put the effort in to keep their fan base from switching over. Hopefully this means SDS does better with the servers next year. I wish SDS could get NFL rights now and force EA to try harder with Madden going forward.
I agree that the competition will be good for the game. My only point is that EA is trash too, so don't expect anything great. While I enjoyed last years Show a bit more, I still enjoy this years game as well. I can't say that about the last few Maddens. Best case for me is that this forces SDS to step up their game.
I like the Show DD mode better than MUT in Madden, but these servers are a joke compared to most other games. My hope is this forces SDS to upgrade the online play next year. It will be tough for SDS to compete against EA with these 1990s servers.
I think a lot of this is due to cross platform. Madden isn't cross platform. I know games like Fortnite support both with little issue, so it's possible. But not fair to compare to EA Maddden when EA hasn't been able to create a cross platform game.
....okay, but the truth is that this game had bad servers way before cross platform play. Anybody here says the problems only started last year is lying to you. It's even more critical for a baseball game to play smooth online because precise timing is the main skill involved. I play The Show, Madden, GT7, and NHL and The Show is the only one that I experience lag at all... so my internet is not the problem. EA just has better servers for their games and its that simple. My opinion on this is DD mode is better than MUT mode, but I believe SDS will take a huge hit in revenue if EA makes an MLB licensed game in a couple years and SDS sticks with their [censored] servers... because 100% guaranteed EA will have a much better online experience than what we are playing this game with right now. I will keep hoping that SDS figures it out before then and I don't even have to try the EA version. I'm not bashing SDS either, as I love this game, just pointing out what will be SDS baseballs demise will be if it isn't corrected by the time another company starts to compete with them.
I agree, it's not acceptable to have a laggy online experience. SDS needs to fix this. However, EA does need to get with the times though and support Cross Platform in their online Sports games.

I see that as a good thing, there is no more monopoly in the baseball sim game but its EA. And if EA dares to get the exclusive MLB rights like they did for NFL, I will lose hope in the sport game industry.
I agree... no company should get exclusive rights to their sport, its the reason why EA can turn into a huge cash grab and SDS can still have [censored] servers and be successful because the consumer has no other option to move on.

I'll say the same thing I always say about this. Competition is good for consumer. I have felt EA got complacent without competition from 2K in football and SDS has as well. If nothing it shouldn't make things worse. But will take a few years to see any real competition from EA.
