Nothing, except being a douche. Just know if they're dancing they're terrible at the game

I don't find that true all the time. I have faced some that can hit well.

If someone is bunt cheesing or bunt dancing, I already know I won the game. It's a clear sign of their ability in combination with their stats. Not hard to counter and an easy W.

They are most likely on some sorta stimulant and have to mash buttons.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the theory is the AI infielders will react to the bunt attempt, so when the ball is put in play, they are out of position. Same as why so many people hit and run H2H.
Not saying that is why or that it even works, but I believe that's what I heard when I asked this question back in 2017.

Hmm if someone was faking a bunt to sacrifice or get a hot, wouldn't you throw your pitch differently? It's like dancing in base. It's an attempt to confuse, distract and or annoy the pitcher. If it bothers you then Mission Accomplished.

It has no affect on my pitching . I just think they look like clowns.

When I first started playing this game, I used to play the Challenge of the Week as a warmup before entering any online games. If you've ever played the Challenge, you know that holding triangle (on PS) will "fast forward" you to the next pitch. So when pitchers were taking forever in online games, I would sometimes accidentally "bunt dance" without even thinking about it. I guess my brain had learned to hold triangle if I was being impatient and it would get me to the next pitch.
I'm sure that only accounts for like .01% of the bunt dancers out there, but I suppose it's one theory. The other 99.99% are just being d-backs.

Some do this because people will throw high and in heat to prevent the bunt and they'll sit on it.
I actually use a fake bunt once or twice a game with a Lofton or other speed demon to keep them on their toes. 75% of the time the next pitch is a high inside FB or sinker and I'll square it.
