Trout price about to drop?

I've noticed a lot of people on Reddit lately saying that they've pulled Trout from a free pack, myself included. Of course this doesn't mean any more Trouts are coming than usual, but it does seem like a lot of people are getting him rn.
Obviously he's in a slump irl, and has been downgraded already.
With the influx of new Trouts and an incoming rating drop his price could tank hard.
Any market experts have any advice? When I pulled him I immediately bought the AL and locked it in. Maybe that was a bad idea.

Just because tons of people 'supposedly' pulled him doesn't meant that they will sell him. Nor does it mean his price will drop.
The only two/three things that will make his price drop, and if it does drop it won't be by alot, is
1: A half off pack sale
2: A guaranteed 90+ LS Pack added to the program reward path
3: He gets downgraded to a low Diamond (89-85) or to a GoldThe first two are more likely to happen before the last one. And monkees may fly before the last one happens.

Of course his price will drop. Precipitously over the course of the season. Live series cards are the highest prices they are ever going to be right now. It won’t be long until there’s a sale, then another sale, and with each sale, the price drops. And then the 99’s come and proliferate. It’s a certainty the price will drop. The only reason to buy him now is to make the complete player collection, but you’d probably have to spend real money on that still at this point. If you’re not completing the player collection immediately, find a different CF until his price drops significantly.

His card price will never drop so hard until around the endgame. Last year, he barely played and had 8 HR and still his card was around a million the entire year.

He just got injured. As long as he's on the IL, his price will hold steady.

It never did that in other Shows

It has done that in every previous show. That’s how sales work in any business. You pay full price at release while the demand is highest, as time passes, demand reduces (because who needs two of them?) and each stub sale creates supply at a lower cost, and when there are more sellers than there are buyers, the price will drop until the ratio levels out. This will happen with each stub sale. The price will also drop when a better CF card is added to the game, be it a 99 Mantle or Mays, as now there is a far superior option. This is exactly what is going to happen to it over the course of the season.

I was just about to post the same thing. Bet they blame his slump on trying to play while injured.
Only question is if SDS was planning on dropping him a few more points did they already get the coding into the game or did they wait until the last minute incase he did end up injured?

I've only done DD the last two years, so I was in fact wondering if SDS would dare be objective with his ratings since he's the game's legendary item every year. Too bad he got injured -- IRL first and foremost, of course, but much less importantly to see if SDS would have done the unthinkable. Then I suppose Judge would become the new Trout...?

Ratings are (supposedly) based on a 3-year average. So a 0-26 streak from Trout should only be a drop in the bucket of how his card is rated. Frankly, they should just keep him where he is because they downgraded him a few weeks ago when he was still hitting really well, so this just balances out the variance.

The 3-year average is a joke at this point. They've been comically aggressive with adjustments this year.
