Doubt if it'll fix much, not his fault that their pitchers are terrible.

His managing style is out dated too. Would have got fired a long time ago if it wasnt for his past. Local radio station here did a segment on that just yesterday I think.

True I'm not a fan of him either. But a team's roster is the responsibility of the GM, not the coach. Their offense pulled them through the start of the season, but it's clear that when they slump the pitching can't do a thing to help out. Even if the offense is playing well, they often blow it. Has been the story of the Angels for years now.
Same thing with Philadelphia. They have all these amazing hitters but forgot that you need defense to prevent runs being scored. I don't think that's Girardi's fault either, even though I'm not a fan of him either.

So Ohtani isn’t that great of a pitcher? Serious question I don’t keep up with baseball like that. I know in game his not that great as a pitcher to me but idk in real life.

He's been doing okay, 3.99 ERA. Could be better I guess but not bad at all. It's mostly their bullpen. Sandoval is okay, Detmers has great outings and then some bad outings, same with Lorenzen. Syndergard has been getting lit up. But the bullpen is just not good. And when Loup and Iglesias start to struggle as well (their only 2 good options out of the pen), which they have lately, then they really don't have anything to go to.
-
Rangers are similar. Get runs but the bullpen let’s them down. I hate to see a man lose his job though. Best of luck to him

Joe Maddon has been an okay manager throughout the years...not great...not bad. Of course he's had good years (like winning the World Series) but also seen some bad years (like where their at now). Angels need to do something to turn this season around before it is too late to do so. And the easiest thing is to fire the head coach! I don't find this surprising.

The tigers need to fire Avila and Scott coolbaugh

I wouldn’t say that Ohtani isn’t a great a pitcher. He has a lot of upsides. Good velocity on his fastball, good break on his pitches. I think his biggest flaw is his control and his sequencing of pitches. He tends to hang the occasional pitch. Also he tries to overpower a lot of hitters. Most hitters nowadays are used to facing guys throwing 100 though.

He walked Corey Seager with the bases loaded.

Haha yeah that was amazing. I was like wait is this Corey Seager or Barry Bonds. Guess he just wanted to be talked about and got what he wanted.

Their pitching was actually their strongest weapon through their good start. I remember when the Astros and Angels were playing they were showing some insane numbers on how well the Angels pitching was. They actually had the 3rd best WHIP and 3rd best Opp BA in MLB after April ended. It just wasnt gonna hold up.

From their starters, Loup and Iglesias yes. But that didn't last too long.

Still a long ways to go though. They got plenty of time to right the ship. Looks like Trout is back.

I hope they will. Having Trout and Ohtani on the same team and those other pieces as well like Rendon, they should be competing.

Off topic, but La Russa deserves to be fired far more. Terrible hire.
