Hitting is still garbage

Seriously. Has anything changed? Still far too many good/okays on good PCIs. Pitching is still way too inaccurate. I just had a perfect/perfect fly out with Bryce Harper that would’ve iced the game, and then gave up a game tying shot on a hung slider. Absolute utter horsesh&t. This is 100% my last MLB The Show purchase. SDS essentially lied to us for months leading up to the release date, touting a new hitting engine that actually rewards skill. That lasted all of a week. That’s honestly close to false advertisement. I don’t wanna take another break until they patch this sh*t again but it’s looking like I might have to.

When the patch notes said “slight adjustments” I knew the game was still going to be garbage. They didn’t do anything.

Lol . I just played a game where I smashed 4 to the warning track with guys with 85+ power.l and has a guy decide he wanted to run to second without me telling him. Other guy had 5 chopper singles , 2 homeruns on late ok swings with garbage players. Made me wanna break my ps4. He threw belt high fastball every time and all my shots died at the track but one that hit the wall. The game made me lose to one of the worst players I’ve ever seen. I should have score 15+ in an event if the feedback was correct and even with his bs hits I still would have won. They give bad players extra oomph sometimes, then other times you slam them.

Funny thing is, baseball is simply physics. If you hit the ball on the sweet spot, it’s going to be crushed every single time. Not necessarily a home run, but if you square it up perfectly, it’s going to be hit perfectly. In this game, if you square it up perfectly, it could be a moonshot, or a fairly weak Lineout, or a shot to the gap, or a flyout

Wrong, i feel “entitled “ to getting results in good swings. I’m good squared or perfect perfect the player should be hitting at least 500, but since the patch it’s more like 200. And you get rewarded for early ok and late ok. I guess we are “entitled” to good results from booty swing? You’re probably that guy that wears socks with his sandals out here simping for SDS

Against my better judgement, I ended up playing another game. Ended up winning off a grand slam that should’ve been a pop up

I praised the game at release. The games just not there right now. It’s not the game we were told we were getting. They destroyed their player base with this game. 18 ppl wanted something more dynamic. It was all power...they did that...but made 19 very random. People wanted that randomness removed for the most part and they promised that...and they didn’t follow
Through with those promises.This game is extremely random. Pitching wise. Hitting wise. Defensively. Base running. Players especially gamers like CONTROL. Outcomes to be based on input. That is gaming. When you take that control away you are watching a baseball game. All of us already watch baseball and most of us aren’t here to have that “watch a baseball game” experience. It’s to fill a competitive void. This game doesn’t produce that.
And it’s as simple as a few sliders probably. But they just don’t want ppl to have fun I guess. They want to appease everyone and players like this way of playing up until the point they are actually pretty good/decent at the game...and then it’s just annoying.
They are making a huge mistake with this game right now.
