Losing internet connection

Much of the time when I'm playing, I lose my network connection. I bought an addition ethernet cord for my internet to strengthen the connection but it doesn't really help. MLB The Show is the only game on my console that I lose connection with. Does this happen to anyone else and/or does anyone know what to do about it?

I think we need a little more context.

Online play vs humans only or any DD mode?
PS4 or PS5?
What ISP and closest major city?
What is your advertised internet speed?
Are you plugged directly into a router or the modem?
Sounds silly, but under the console settings, are you connected via Ethernet or wireless?
You mention a new Ethernet cable. Cat 5, 5e, 6?
