I know this isn’t the 1st year them allowing this but it’s my 1st year playing MLB coming over from Madden whom I played MUT for over 6 years. EA never allows that to happen so it’s a nice feature of SDS. I made a 1B, I know it’s not the best position to make considering there’s plenty of options at 1B and I didn’t know better.
My problem is idk if I can ever replace him. 120 contact on both sides and max 125 power on both sides with 105 vision and a respectable 75 speed. There’s absolutely no one in the game better than him with those stats early on and I don’t see anyone coming close to those stats that will make me consider switching him. Even though I like that they let you use CAP I also think it’s an advantage cause early on you can make your players the best player in DD with absurd stats like my CAP.
I haven’t played online in a while but I remember a couple of weeks ago I played a CAP pitcher and I seen he was a 65 ovr and I was like cool he should be easy to hit. This was at a time I didn’t know they all show up at 65 ovr regardless unless you pause the game and look at his stats. He had a glitchy release and wind up so it was very hard for me to hit anything and also he was just quick pitching the whole game.
Long story short I quit after the 6th inning cause I got down 3-0 and I suck so I knew I wasn’t gona make a comeback. But I was frustrated I couldn’t hit a 65 ovr pitcher lol not knowing what his exact stats were but I’m pretty sure he was probably a 99 ovr player like my CAP but I didn’t know they all show up as a 65 ovr regardless. What your guys opinion on this?
DD started out with Dynasty players where it was basically an entire team of CAP's. You could rent MLB players for 10 games to fill the holes in your line ups. You would even get Dynasty points to add to their attributes. They are keeping that alive and it should be kept IMO. I plan to use it to create my fav players that are not licensed like Bonds or maybe Andruw Jones.
keep CAPS relevant be leave them for offline use, they expand more on mini seasons, or more offline modes and people can create those and actually replicate there favorite players.
Not sure why you and others don't like CAP's. What's the difference if you grind for a 97 Babe Ruth that would have similar attributes to a CAP? I don't use one yet but I will create one at some point. I now anticipate angry messages after a game saying that I'm being cheese for using one.
because babe ruth is actual player IRL. Thats my gripe.

Because Babe Ruth has weaknesses, such as fielding and speed. With a CAP there is absolutely no downside whatsoever to using it and you can choose any swing you want. The only card that will come out that is comparable to a CAP is 99 Mantle

"there the same as other high diamonds, i dont see why they are OP"
-You can pick the swing
- unreal hitting
- unreal fieldig
-can customize the size - they look stupid

People don't grind for their CAP players. They exploit for them.
People generally don't make them for a MLB likeness. They make them for an "advantage". Arm slot, swing path, switch hitting etc.
People think they are funny with Mike Oxlong etc. Long Santa beards etc. Keep that to offline play and outfit a whole team of those guys for all I care.
Whatever. It's a game. Not going to tell others how to play it. Expressing my opinion on the subject.
I'd rather Fake Series cards than CAPs.
-
It's not like you are just creating a player and making all the attributes 125 or 99. You have to grind pretty hard to get the stats up to those levels. It's also not like you can add 9 CAP's on one team. It's only 1 player. I think they should be allowed. Also as others have said, since people are spending stubs to get the best equipment to improve their player, I don't see SDS changing this anytime soon. I think most people play RTTS to create a player to use in DD. You take away this feature, and this mode will get little to no use.
-
Personally, I love being able to make a CAP and use him on my DD Team. It actually takes some time (not really effort, just time) since I got to play RTTS a bunch to build him up....even on low difficulties hitting 3 HRs a game it still takes time to get through the paths. I just kind of missing being able to boost him up by playing him in DD. Last year I would put him on my conquest/offline grind teams to get stats and even used him from the get go as a bronze in ranked just to start earning more.
The only thing I dislike about CAPs is them being pitchers and being able to give them funky submarine deliveries but still hit 100mph on a fastball. That I think needs to be coded hard cap that sub deliveries can't really exceed mid 90s at most. At least they got rid of the knuckleball for online play (didn't bother me on guys like Niekro because they still throw slow but Caps throwing 100+ with KB is broken).
-
I'm against them. I would love for CAPS force people to actually use their IRL stats. A bunch of 5-7 unathletic looking CAPS would be hilarious to play against.
-
Not a fan but i don't play online so it is not an issue for me.
I could kind of understand CAP back in the day when there were a fraction of the cards we have in the current versions. But there are so many cards I don't feel like it is needed anymore.
-
Caps can stay if SDS implements a better archetype system to limit 125/120 hitting with 80+ speed and 90+ defense arm… They also need remove certain pitching motions for created pitchers, as soon as people cannot create a RP with 99 stamina, 120 H/9 that throws submarine with 102mph 4 seamer and 70mph change up and with 115 contact and 86 power the cheese will stop.

I understand. I'm gonna give it a shot when I get into ranked since they will never release an another 99 Andruw Jones card again.

So let me get this straight.
You guys are totally fine with SDS putting cards out out like a cracked out Aldeberto Mondesi, a player who has essentially been below average his entire career but had one pretty solid month and is GOAT status. Eddie Rosario has 3-4 good games in a series and has a card that is one of the best hitters in Show history. The list can go on but this is ok because they are "real players"?
Yet some of you are legit up in arms over the fact they allow you to create your own SINGLE ballplayer? Which requires a pretty ridiculous grind to get him at those attributes?
His name is kinda offensive. WAH
He has a green beard- GAHHHHHH
Its totally unrealistic- BOOHOOOOOOYou guys continue to entertain. Love it.
