First baseman not covering first

Today I was playing BR. Situation was Kenny lofton on 2nd after beating out a weak ground ball to the Ernie banks at short then stealing second. I got Trey turner to pop out to first then Judge came up. He hits a screamer on the ground to second. 83 gold chase utley makes an amazing diving snag, rolls over fire a seed to silver Ryan Howard who is 10-15 feet off first base. Howard catches it sprints toward first to be beat by a step. Sometimes you just have to laugh, Next up Rizzo, 3 run HR.

I don't get that issue. The issue I get is a ball hit real weakly about 10 feet in front of the catcher, and the game does not let me control a player and they all stand still for a free infield single. Once had it happen 4 times in a Mini Season game 5 finale

Pitching in rtts I see this at least once every handful of games
