Best monitor specs and size?

Confused don’t see any that say hdmi 2.1

Yes you want 120hz, but most (if not all) hdmi 2.1 TV's should have at least 120hz, along with the other things listed above.
The LG C1 48", LG C2 42", Hisense ULED Premium 55U7G QLED, VIZIO 43-Inch M-Series 4K UHD Quantum LED HDR Smart TV, Etc.
I use the LG CX 48" and it works fine.

The Hisense may be the cheapest at around $650 but do your diligent research. I have only used the LG and have no experience with any other HDMI 2.1 display.
I would check out rtings, cnet, etc. before purchasing.

All the referenced above is 4K @ 120. If you just want 120fps performance, you can get any monitor that is 1080p and can do 120fps or better. There are some out there for a decent price. You dont need HDMI 2.1 unless you want 4K also.

Can you potentially get a TV or has to be a monitor?
I would rather get a tv actually….
Basically look for a TV with HDMI 2.1.
I would wait for the first good sale on the new LG C2 OLED. It's got everything you want and is much brighter than last year's OLEDs, which were already decently bright. You have to go for at least 55" though, the 42 and 48 use different panels that aren't as good.
It's a bit pricey but I promise you'll be blown away

Thanks guys

I’d forget the monitor and get one of the LG TVs listed above. I have the LG CX and it’s awesome. You can probably get that discounted at this point because there’s been 2 iterations after it.

32-48", 4K, 120hz, HDMI 2.1 (ALLM, VRR).
Most HDMI 2.1 gaming monitors or displays should work fine. I use the LG CX OLED TV and it does well.
48 inch television is way too big to be used by someone trying to be competitive. 27-32” is probably the perfect size for a game like this.
