I've played this mode about 8-9 times and love it! Nothing wrong with your strategy. I usually just play out the games tho bc it's so fun. I play all my home games at my created park with max elevation to hit bombs lol. I do play the postseason on Rookie to make sure I win the championship. I have been playing regular season on Veteran and All-star for some better competition to help me play online some.
Good luck!
Thanks for the advice! I must admit that I'm not very good. So, I play the entire season on Rookie. I seem to win the regular season games rather easily (usually 4+ runs without allowing any runs). But it seems to be in the playoffs, even on Rookie, I need to squeak out 1-0 games and the series goes 4 or 5 games. LMAO
You bet! Oh yes! lol, the Cats and Whales can be tough in my league each season. I think it's such a fun mode this year and gives lots of great rewards with cards, XP, PXP grinding, and stubs. It's unfortunate that some have had trouble with getting the mode to work well. I hope that gets fixed for them soon.

Nothing wrong with skipping. I usually skip the last 8-9 games and lock in the 1 seed so I can get playoff games at home. Starting my 9th run and trying to finish before the next program starts
-
I have completed it 15 times. Load up on the two goals first (strikeouts and RBIs). I have a lineup just set with Vet, Rookie and Breakout pitchers and is loaded with Second half stars for the RBIs. Try to get a schedule where you play more home games at the beginning of the season. I play all home games which is 14 wins and then there are usually a couple teams that are terrible that I play on the road. Goal is usually 20 wins. After that I try to stay the top seed but as long as you are 3rd or better you meet that goal also. If you are really worried about the playoffs, I have also manipulated losses to make sure the Cats and Whales stay out. Like lose two easy games to the 5 place team to bump one of those out. But really on rookie it should be pretty easy.

How do you "skip" one of these games? I have been playing them all
-
The first "season" of mini seasons there was a goal to finish 2nd or better. This time it's only 3rd or better. So yeah once I clench at least 3rd I skip the rest. I usually do this at around 18/20-0 and usually just end up in first.

Start the game and after it loads, just quit. Its an automatic loss. I usually keep a junk pitcher in my pen to start on games i quit so the ones i care about dont take the loss.

Once I finish the missions, 30 hits, 60 rbi with second half card etc. and clinch a spot I just quit out of games to get to the playoffs. Maximize the stubs and XP this way.
This is the way. I also through in the steals on AS last run through….think it only took 3-4 extra games.
Once I can finish at least 3rd, quit and push to playoffs.

For those that do play this mode....once you clinch a playoff spot, do you forfeit (quit) regular season games to start the playoffs sooner (and get the XP rewards)?
This is only my 2nd season I've played and I have about a 15 game cushion with 4 games left. Anything wrong with just skipping ahead to the postseason?
The only teams i play all 4 games against are the Whales and Cats (so they wont win tie breakers against the lower teams) and thats just so i can avoid them in ther playoffs. Not that they're really hard or anything but why make things harder than they need to be?
So i usually look at the schedule first and after those 8 wins, i'll start dropping 1-2 games against the other teams at random. I've gone through 10 mini-seasons and its a strategy that seems to work for me.

If I have everything accomplished I’ll quit. I’ll never get the 20 stolen base mission done so I get my strikeouts, rbis and hof wins
-
I start by checking the schedule. If I have 4 consecutive games against a combination of the Cats and Whales I reset the season (square). This allows me to always set up to use my 4-5 pitchers against the god squads.
I strategically quit/lose games to keep the Cats and/or Whales out of the playoffs. 17 wins usually gets me the number 1 seed.

I have done that as well lose games to bump a team out.
