The XP, Stubs & Packs earned from "Mini Seasons" is pretty decent. However SDS does need to change up mission goals & as rewards. The 2nd season of Mini was a blue print identical copy of 1st Season. But what made it even more disappointing, there is no grand prize guaranteed reward card. Longoria was a 1 time deal. SDS did not offer a new guaranteed grand prize card. This is 1 of the 2 reasons why I did no even bother to play out Mini Season 2.
The 2nd reason is because I found it to be boring & unexciting to play the same 7 teams which easily has player repeated 2 times, 3 times & 4 times within those teams. What would be cool is if SDS made every season be teams of past World Series winning teams. Each Mini Season will feature 7 different past World Series Winning Teams. so lets say for example ....
SEASON 3 ) 96 Yankess, 89 A's, 86 Mets, 85 Royals, 84 Tigers, 83 Orioles, 81 Dodgers
SEASON 4 ) 69 Mets, 67 Cardinals, 55 Brooklyn Dodgers, 48 Indians, 33 NY Giants, 27 Yankees, 24 Washington Senators
SEASON 5) 7 different past World Series Teams
SEASON 6) Repeats the Teams from Season 3
SEASON 7) Repeats the Teams from Season 4
SEASON Repeats the Teams from Season 5This will give a good feel with actually enjoying playing Mini. Give a chance to feel nostalgia & see all of the Legend cards (Sig, Awards, MS, Prime, AS, Vet, BO, RK) and see them & face up against them within the team they played for.
It's just a thought I have. Who else thinks something like this or similar would be cool/
-
Let's introduce a new game mode that many won't be able to enjoy because they literally can't play it on their console AND let's not touch the mode after release.
Does that sound about right?
-
While a cool idea it's a bid unrealistic since they will never have the rights for all the players on all those teams. Also I cut them a little slack for not having a new card reward because they probably figured a lot of people (me included) didn't get to finish it during the first season because of the bugs. Got him on my season 2 run tho.

I like how it is setup, but i think they couldv'e started out with a flashback silver and lower tier teams to start off with. I also think your lineups should be locked in like they do with events.
This mode has alot of potential and i look forward to seeing how they improve it. So many ways they could go with this. They could make it like a BR type line-Ups, Silver to Diamond (No common or Bronzes) But have certain amount of Diamonds and Golds allowed. I wouldv'e like to see it get bumped back to 9 innings or maybe 6 since it is an offline mode.
Definitely would like the CPU have same stamina rules implemented!!

No BR bs please. I like using my team and I definitely wouldn't want my team locked in.

I only thought of that for keeping golds and silvers relevant throughout the year. Would benefit market to an extent as well. As far as being locked in i don't see what problem with that would be. Give people a measuring stick of building a different team on thier next run and see if it helps or hinders. But i don't like BR either except for the lineup diversity reason.

Maybe it can have an OVR Max Limit. So it can prevent you from having a 25 Player Roster of all Diamonds being 90+. Having an OVR Max Limit may force you to have 4 to 5 Golds & 1 or 2 Silvers to keep yourself from going over the OVR Max Limit. However NOT it being locked in because this way we can change our line-up, rotation & bullpen based on cards we need to use for Team PxP or Card Class PxP. The Mode will NOT let us proceed into a game if we are over the OVR Max Limit.

Definitely locked ovrall makes better sense agreed. Great point regarding the locked team for PXP, still not used to the pxp idea. I don't get in a rush to do pxp unless it's within a mission. Being first to P5 just doesn't excite me. If they added like a highlight reel to the card when reaching P5 would be cool. But P5 the way it is just meh to me..

I agree with the OP that theme teams would be really nice in mini seasons.
That Anime Ricky card could be on the BOS, TOR, NYY, and OAK teams. I’m probably missing a team or 2 here.
It would be a great way to change things up as so many teams in my current mini season seem to be on track to finish the LS collection quite soon.
-
Here's the problem with the mode.
I have asked for it for years, I would love to play it but I am scared to do so. Enough people have played their 28 regular season games only to get hit with an error in the postseason. I am sure that more people successfully finish mini season than get the error but it seems to happen often enough that I am not willing to gamble my game time on it currently.
-
It seems to be if you win the semis in more than 3. Play it on Veteran and once you reach the final, you’re golden. Seems to be the main factor.

I have yet to get the error. That being said whatever lineup i choose initially is the one i stick with. Don't know the cause obviously but since they fixed the wins not counting as losses mine has worked good. But i understand the frustration that comes from getting the error after playing all those games, but you won't know if you don't try.

This is the one game mode that had a chance to keep my attention, but no new cards or rewards killed any possible excitement I had for this mode, or the game. I didn't have the same issues others did, but I also wasn't going to grind it again for 15 packs.

DAMMMMM SKIPPY!!!!!!!!! If I was only after packs, I rather do Mystery map 3x Over for 15 packs which will take me 90 to 120 min tops. Compared to the 15 you get from Mini putting in 8 hours.

I definitely like the idea they had, but I think a different card as a reward at the end is a good idea. And different packs as you go along as rewards is a good idea as well instead of Prospects.
It would be good to have different themed teams to play against, though I don’t know how they’d be able to do it. Even teams like Team USA, Team Cuba, Team DR, etc. Teams that wear all Red or whatever. Be creative.
Be creative with rewards too. -

Be creative with rewards too. They did it in years past with all time legend theme teams for all 30 clubs. But that takes effort...something they don't seem to offer much of anymore.

The problem would be that you could not sell any of those cards until the season was over or you just forfeit the season. Like events are now. Would people want their team locked for an entire RS season? I do not see the plus side for the player having their cards locked until a mode is over. But just my opinion. I guess if you play mini seasons quickly it would be ok, but I only play that mode occasionally. I am still only half way through my first season (although not knowing if I can even finish it due to bugs has something to do with that). I would not want my cards locked in this entire time.

Yeah I got sick and tired of seeing Lee Smith pitching the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings without losing more than a quarter of his stamina, at a pitch count of 43. I could get behind that change if they made it
