Please! Anyone who knows about connection issues!
-
I am at my witts end.
I have a wired connection. My speeds are between 50-55 download.
I created a static ip address, changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
I started messaging with the MTU.
I even initialized the ps4 and re-installed the game.Yet I routinely get kicked offline in h2h.
I would have won 3 games today. Instead I'm 0-3 because of a lost connection.
I can see my Gateway directly in front of me, and the lights never even blink-- solid green. And the signal never drops otherwise.
If anyone has any advice, PLEASE let me know.
I even got a new Gateway from my ISP. -
Did you set up port forwarding for the TCP/UDP ports on your router for PS5? That might help. Also, one thing I did when I set that up was I noticed the DNS address my ISP was using so I pinged it and it returned much faster than Googles DNS which you have there. So I set that in my PS5 DNS as well.
Don't know if any of that will resolve your issue. But it's worth a shot.

Thanks!
I haven't tried port forwarding yet.
And I'll check the dns -
Did you try any of this and did it do anything ?

Another simple fix.
Check out the Ethernet cable from your modem to your router. Also check the cable from the router to your console.
All cables need Cat 5E or higher. Preferably 6+.
It's overlooked often. Been there done that myself.

This. Also check your ethernet cables and make sure the the tab (little plastic piece on top) is not broken. That can cause an unstable connection too.

Agreed. You want to hear that click.

Also make sure your ISP doesn’t time your connection out after a certain period of time once you reach a predetermined data cap. Most people don’t realize that their ISP’s have a fair use policy and once you reach a certain data usage level they throttle you or intentionally time your connection out to get you to stop doing what you’re doing. It’s a dirty little trick that is usually masked in fine print. I work for a huge ISP and this is a common practice for these guys.
-
Also, you might consider upgrading your bandwidth. 50-55 is plenty to run this game but if other stuff is going on on your network that bandwidth can be eaten up real fast.

Wow. That's unbelievable.
But it makes sense with the issue I'm having.
Literally out of nowhere I will be running smooth and then "Pow!", wired connection disconnected. -
Thanks for the advice, fellas.
Playing these games over the years has definitely been an education on internet connectivity! -
Did you try ejecting the disc and blowing in the slot?

I even got a new Gateway from my ISP.50-55 is horrendous. For context I'm at 900. Not trying to be mean. I'm just saying you may want to upgrade your service. I got Xfinity.
