I agree with most of your points I just don't "feel" it this year

I stopped playing Franchise 4 years ago when I started DD and I think it's kinda time to go back for this year

Something is missing from this years DD.Something is off I can just feel it

I agree. I still play, but not near as much as previous games. I've been thinking about starting a franchise. Collection rewards are terrible, Frank has a big dumb slow swing.

So far I'm good with DD, granted I got the game 3 weeks late because I was finally able to buy ps5, so I'm not as advanced as others, but I really like pxp, my goal is to get to level V Silver Barry Larkin, well, just because. I also didn't play 21, so I am getting used to the stuff new to me like Pinpoint pitching. On HOF vs CPU on mini seasons you have to be perfect it seems. I'd like to Git gud as they say with DD before going to franchise.

As far as content, it's been one month, I'll wait before I start complaining, just because it's not up to par with years past doesn't mean it's always going to be this way. TA being gone sucks because I don't see the replacement level of content, but it was also a massive grind in 20 where I was playing MTO more than I wanted, not sure if 21 was an improvement, but I'd rather grind mini seasons and conquest than to play MTO other than 1 time.

Overall I'm good with DD this year, could be better and if mini seasons gets the attention it needs, then I will be happy with DD this year. Really hope the beef up mini seasons next year as it's pretty bare, but still fun.

PXP is the single worst addition this year for program progress I think.
Forcing me to use players I don't like to progress very very slowly towards the program is not ideal.

It's just a different flavor than what we had last year. You had to put certain players in your lineup to advance their programs.

That said, I am with you that this year it seems that they have doubled down on it with almost every "Other" program needing PXP. You work to get these cards that you really want to use and then spend most of your playing time using different squads with players you don't care about so you can make progress in the next program.

It's a huge step back from last year IMO.

I wasn't too sour on DD until this POTM program came out. Pretty beefy grind with the lightning player being very underwhelming.

Stubs are much harder to come by, rewards are iffy at best, market is a mess, etc. Just nowhere near as fun as last year (until burnout set in, at least).

Yeah Rizzo is def not worth it. I'm debating selling my monthly awards cards for stubs rather than locking them in for Rizzo. And buying them back later.

DD is just...MEH this year. For me, the fact that there's a tab labeled "Other Programs" is symbolic of how uncreative things have gotten. The very layout of the mode is stale and uninviting. The entire UI of the game looks like a bad Power Point presentation.

More substantively, long PXP grinds with players you'll never use again for a card that is underwhelming (to say the least) -- that's a big "no, thank you."

Honestly, Rizzo should have been one of the 90's and a pitcher could have been the Lightning card. Everyone used Buxton last year, but who's gonna use Rizzo if you already have Frank or Prince? Huge miss for SDS, and given the generally negative sentiments about DD this year this first Monthly Awards just confirms that SDS is in a huge slump.

Oh! Don't forget that in Rookie this year, pitchers for some reason throw about 75% fewer cookies. They also dot up, which is [censored] hilarious. And then there's a good chance that the wind will be blowing in. Grinding has become obnoxious.

DD is truly bad this year.

I truly love the grind in games but I need to be rewarded.I actually struggle to hit on rookie the last week or so and I used to crush All Star

I don't know why this year is like this but I don't like it.

Lack of packs has been number 1 for me to be honest.Last year TA gave us so much stubs, packs and this year nothing

I am right there with you. Former franchise player here. Got hooked on DD on MLB17 and haven’t gone back to franchise. But this year DD sucks. Waiting for Ridin rosters to drop this weekend and going back to franchise 🤷

Not a rant post really just came to realization that this years DD is lacking a lot for me to continue playing.

I will be playing Franchise and Road to the Show from now on but DD is done for 22.

Content has been lacking in my view.

Team Affinity is gone,New featured program is weak and POTM is a joke. Not to mention the grind needed to get Rizzo.Just not fun.

PXP is the single worst addition this year for program progress I think.

Forcing me to use players I don't like to progress very very slowly towards the program is not ideal.

Hitting is bad both online and offline and diving plays are OP.Mini Seasons is a good idea but too shallow and kinda broken for some folks.

Collections are underwhelming really.I only like Gibson,Utley and Jansen.

I will continue playing the game but DD is an L this year from me.

We're a month in, you baby. Good lord

Last year was worse IMO; missions were stat missions (HRs, hits and so on) while PXP is plug and play, so if you can't get certain stats because the card sucks, a simple AB is (10 pts) x (difficulty modifier). And the TA had tons of them.

One thing I liked is having these missions in BOTH MA and main program, so you can kill 2 birds with one stone. Also, the MA Moments are pretty easy compared to last year; although that could be just a lucky stretch. I zoomed by them last night compared to other years, especially Topps Now.

Collections suck this year but glad to see everybody doesn't get the best cards in the game for free. If they would have kept gameplay from last year and replaced Frank with a lefty 1B or literally anybody else that's meta, it would be great. Same for Clemente. Replace him with Griffey maybe

Well, I platoon Frank and Prince. And Clemente is amazing. If you're only standard is 100+ power, then fine. But the guy might be the best fielder in the game, nobody can run on him, and his contact is best in show. He's saved me wins by his fielding/throwing alone. But if you're only meta-hunting, meh...

I mean I play to be as competitive as possible. Clemente's swing is reminiscent of Soriano's from last year in how hard it is to turn on inside pitches. If he had 85+ speed then the card would be fine. The biggest dagger is how great of a reward Chipper was last year. Switch hitting 3rd basemen with 100+ power and contact against both.

They rotate the 99s legends each year (collections, programs, online rewards, bosses).

Yeah, that isn't a bad idea. I just wish programs/bosses were always inferior to online rewards/collections as programs/bosses can be done by anyone. For programs, maybe even make some objectives online only like 2K does with MyTeam programs.

I've seen a couple of people use the term "meh" to describe this year, and I have to agree. The last 3 versions, I played / grinded pretty endlessly. It always felt like there was something to do or accomplish, whether it was a program, conquest or even just working the market to get stubs.

The game this year has absolutely been massaged for one thing and one thing only: To make you buy stubs. Flipping is awful compared to last year. The cards dropping aren't nearly as desirable as at this time last year. The amount of packs / stubs being given out for completing goals is WAY down. I can't prove this next assertion, but it definitely feels like packs aren't nearly as fair. Really the one thing I can compliment about this year is that there aren't any overpowered cards that EVERYONE has in their lineup, so the PACING of content is better than most years, in my opinion.

Really the game feels like a grind this year, and as many others have said, it doesn't feel nearly as rewarding. Hell, I remember doing one division of exchanges in TA last year, and being bombarded with packs and stubs. This year? It's like a trickle.

TA removed some packs for sure but I have 12 ballin packs sitting ready to open and will easily get 6 more today grinding the program plus 15-20 show packs.

Pacing of content is fabulous. That and saving event lineups are the best thing they've done so far. Just need to tighten up the hitting engine. Less hits on bad contact, more hits on good contact. Less diving plays also and some more packs.
