While I dont think the overall game is as terrible as some have posted I understand the frustration with hitting. It seems like for some reason right now it's the really good contact that is the problem. Perfect perfect is probably fine and when they release results at some point and show that perfect perfect results in an 850 batting avg etc. I would believe that. I think the problem is with the 12, 13, and 14 contact. It seems like this year that is resulting in long fly outs or high line drive outs. Those are still really good swings that in previous versions would be crushed. Combine that with so many 5, 6, and 7 contacts resulting in bloop hits and it drives people crazy. You can play a whole game and be on the ball with lots of contact ranging between 12 and 14 and lose to somebody who is almost missing the ball completely but getting bloop hits. I don't think the bloops would be as frustrating if you were getting better outcomes with your really good but not quite perfect perfect swings.

Bad pci placement and/or bad timing is being rewarded with hits way too often, it’s awful

Coupled with completely unrealistic foul tips to extend ABs, and good swings producing moot like you said, just a terrible state of gameplay

Yea I could live with the cheap hits if they could fix the foul tips and the really good contacts getting more consistent good outcomes. That way the better overall player would probably come out on top in most games. The foul tips getting cleaned up would probably fix a lot of the cheap hits too because there would be way more strikeouts.
