Can we now talk about how bad the market still is?
I think it's officially time to admit that the market this year is a complete and utter wasteland. Idk if it's not enough packs, or too many players or whatever... I just know it stinks.

What is wrong with it? Prices too low? It seems the same as every other year at this time to me.
And after all my complaining about it being hard to complete LS collections, I just realized I am just the Blue Jays away from complete AL, and only need atl, philly, ny, la and Sd for NL. Which means just 4 more big cards.

Good for you man. I'm not having any luck. Last year, albeit an easy year, I did fine. This year I and most of my friends can't seem to find that proven method. Except one of my friends but he was recently banned
. NMS is looking like the way to go next year. -

Nah. Margins definitely Tighter this year compared to last year. Last year was a stub making bonanza, even this early. I couldn't put buy/sell orders in fast enough that's how fast things were moving.
Compared to last year it really feels like there is no influx of xbox/switch players this year and we're back to just PS people.

There doesn't seem to be near as much foot traffic this year. Margins are down, stadiums are down, perks are down, prospects are down, equipment is slow as molasses, roster updates don't matter (you have 79s that will likely go gold already selling higher than the qs of an 83), packs are down, stubs are down, gameplay is worse... across the board this years game is a huge disappointment, not the worst game ever, but a disappointment.
Less packs = less sell nows = less margins = less stubs = less people on the market = a slow and boring market.
I'm joining this "sds is going closer to madden" bandwagon

As a long time player of EA's NHL series...I agree with this comment. I'm seeing alot of "if it doesn't make us money, make it bannable, and if it can, make it hard for our player base to make currency" from SDS now, which is excatly how EA does it.

I definitely have been able to flip more this year than last. Albeit I never try to flip players, more equipment. But I think the reason why I'm flipping more this year is because I didn't have to last year.

Yes. They can still get more packs out through the featured programs and mini seasons and what not. I don't think people should get 30 free 99s for logging into the game like TA was

It was still a good idea. Having the TA path different than the main program was dumb. I just wish they would do something to make packs more interesting for like June onward when live series cards are no longer Meta. Madden does a good job of having a lot of different packs and rotating them which is cool.

My argument remains: they didn't need to remove TA they just needed to stop making the overalls so high.
Ta1- 80-82
Ta2- 83-84
Ta3- 85-88
Ta4- 89-95
Finest 98+Team Affinity should be a way to aquire cards for theme teamed missions not to field a diamond team.
And about the packs, they can't make up for all the ta packs with the featured programs, and they dont seem to be in a rush to add other programd. Each ta last year was over 300 packs. This year all we get is 1 standard here, a 5 pack there, and the dog packs

I think the first featured program will be the longest one of the year besides the end of year forever one. I imagine mini seasons rewards will ramp up as time goes on, and they are already pretty good. I personally feel like they might explode with the conquest rewards after a while, the maps we have already have more Headliner and ballin packs than last year. It seems like we will have more "player programs" this year(I know the city connect ones are weird but still player programs", idk. Its still pretty early to tell for me. I also think actually having to make decisions for your team and sacrificing to get who you want is much more fun than owning every card like I have the last 2 years though.
Also I promise far more people would complain if you give out those types of overalls on cards in TA than the ones that are mad its removed

It’s early, by June last year you could if you wanted too, flip BR silvers for 1500 stubs, I’m sure once people complete the live series and don’t really want to put the work in for flipping the margins will return, but everyone knows the game at this point... It’s like anything that makes currency, once it’s get out and everyone is doing it you make less.

The people complaint about the lack of flipping seem to have no idea how markets work. Let me make this simple, efficient markets can’t be “flipped” (which is really just another name for arbitrage). The more people who try to “flip” the market and the ease for them to do so (ie the app) are what is making the market more efficient and thus less flippable. Flipping won’t return until less orders are being put in trying to flip.

I will also add to this. Once there is a collection program in place it will allow for cards to be flipped. We saw it with Adley, prospect cards are a stable earning right now, with multiple ways to earn them as well. Great post!

I am not even trying to flip, I been buying packs instead and it has worked out great for me so far. 5 free packs from the Mystery Map, Free stubs selling duplicates and get lucky pulling a few diamonds. Buying 20 pack or 50 pack bundles with the stubs I earn from game and selling off duplicates or cards I have no use for.
