Think we're being too hard on SDS

I've never checked out SDS as a company before Based on their 2004 web 2.0 homepage, error message when attempting to apply for a job and seeing that the average salary is around $77k for a video game programmer in the San Diego area (which is the same as $40k for someone down south) - we're clearly dealing with a small business with limited resources.
They last game they made aside from The Show was in 2017
Clearly they're not attracting the best and brightest in the industry. I worked for MLB.com/Bamtech a few years back and I'm assuming they're on or just above the level of the RBI production crew who sat in the section next to mine.
This year, it's far more about microtransactions due to the bad rewards (aside from the main program bosses) and removal of TA - you gotta rip packs. So you either spent 1/2 your day flipping/echanging or pony up real dollars to have any shot at coming close to the LS collection. Play 16 hours a day to complete RS unless you're a top, top player.
With that said - if you're moving in the direction of microtransactions, those funds HAVE TO BE reinvested in to finding better talent in the production/coding department. If they're not and you come out with the same BS next year...well....RIP
Good luck

I mean... it's a Sony owned company. Doubt Sony has limited resources.
-
As a teacher, it would take me a decade , to arrive at 40k per year in the State of Idaho. And that's not a living wage here either. But I understand. 70k would be very difficult to get by on in California.

They are definitely getting money from Sony. But I'm sure it's a budget and not what they actually need to succeed from prior years. Or maybe the great resignation has hit them hard this year. Since people can find higher pay just down the road.

Move to Canada. Our dipshit teachers average 88K/year here. That doesn't include gold plated benefits and pension

Didn't your leader lock down bank accounts of his own citizens because they were honking their own trucks?

I said our dipshit teachers. Not you.
These jokers strike or work to rule every 3 years where I am holding parents hostage.

I'm a teacher. In Idaho. That's what I said. And you shouldn't take hostages.

Yeah he's an idiot. Not like he incited domestic terrorism or anything though. We're just as happy to not have you mouth breathers here as well. Guess we can both be happy

The education system in Canada is doing far better than the U.S., as is the health of their democracy. The benefits and pay of teachers has a lot to do with both.

Honestly I have no sympathy since they don’t communicate at all when the game launches.

Respect. Former teacher here, but changing professions was one of the best decisions I ever made. So under paid and under appreciated.

Less stress. I quit too. Teachers have plenty of skills that can be used in plenty of careers.

Yes, incredibly accurate. CNN I’m guessing? I’d head to Hawaii ASAP, many of the Karen Convoy members are currently homeless so you may not be far behind if you think like them.

I definitely didn’t get into the right profession,Teachers here have it [censored] good. A year round salary even though you don’t work in the summer, any time you whine the government throws tax payers dollars at you, and all you have to do is babysit for about 5 hours of the day.

You say that, until you actually sit in a classroom and listen to what they are teaching these kids.

Except it’s not Canada, education is provincial; maybe in your province that’s what they make.
A
Don’t forget they have to deal with little dip**** who yell and blame teachers for their kid’s failures because they’re too busy looking at their phones rather than raising them.
