Matchmaking issues, and 120hz output.

Hi all.
The team is aware and investigating the recent issues with 120hz output and the impact it is having on matchmaking for PS users.
As other users have mentioned - if you're having troubles finding a match, you may want to try turning off the 120hz output option in the PlayStation settings.
- Settings -> Screen and Video -> Video Output -> Enable 120hz Output: Off
I'll reply again when I get further updates from the team.
EDIT: I know other users here on the forums have already mentioned it, but if turning off the 120hz output option resolved the issue for you, please reply and let me know. Thank you for your patience.
EDIT 2 04/27/2022: We believe the issue has been identified and the team is working to get it resolved asap. Thank you all for your responses and reports.
Turned off 120hz and matchmaking works again. Thanks!

More worried about adding old players then fixing a huge issue with PS5 users. The community that gave life to the Show. It would just be nice to have them address us. Instead, they have it “resolved” by telling us to turn our 120hz off. That’s not a fix. That’s not a supportive mod to the community. Keeping us in the dark is not cool. Hey guys, here’s the issue. Here is why. Here is what we are doing to fix. Meanwhile, Xbox has no issues at 120hz. Frustrating. Still much love, but dudes, just give it to us straight.

Is there an update on the 120hz online matchmaking issues? I saw a post saying the issue has been identified but that was 4 days ago. I still can’t play online with 120hz enabled.

Right I'll be sad I just hope vrr will let me get around 100hz I'll be happy even 90 with vrr on I have the lg gp950 going to look nice

This doesn’t sound like PS5 users will play at 120hz:
Fixed a bug that would prevent users from matchmaking online with 120hz Output enabled.

That’s what I’m saying! We already know the ps5 is capable of running the game at 120 hz because it works offline so I don’t think it’s a matter of VRR or hardware limits. Plus it’s already been confirmed from multiple ppl on Xbox that they play online at 120 hz. I truly believe the issue was just a matchmaking bug.

Don’t think so, I played so many people last year that were on ps5 while I was on a ps4.

Indeed they just solved the matchmaking issue
You can play with 120 hz enabled, which caused trouble in matchmaking , doesn't mean game will run in 120 hz
Do ps4 users play against ps5 users if crosplay us switched off
And if u ask me they should scrap crossplay from the game

Well they did it I'm running 120 hz vrr on my lg gp950 monitor so to mention also 4k HDR and it looks amazing I don't know if it's supported vrr or not but it runs great with vrr on cause there are spikes in the fps so I'm leaving it on there is no screen tearing with it on and yes 120h online as well

Can confirm 120 hz does work for online play on PS5! It seems it was likely just a match matching bug like originally stated.

Turning off 120hz did work to allow me to play online... But this is DEFINITELY NOT A FIX. I have a nice monitor and a PS5, solely to take advantage of better refresh rates. You trying to tell me that I upgraded $800 worth of equipment, just for yall to nerf me??
If not everyone can use the same rate online then there is an uneven playingfield and they have to discontinue crossplay.
Why would a PS4 Player invest money in DD if they are in a huge disadvantage when it comes to onlineplay?And why should that be our problem? We paid the money and got a PS5 or Series X. We should be able to use it to its full advantage and capabilities. If you want an equal playing field then invest in the newest technology. No different than people using 1ms monitors vs an old TV.
