So wtf is going on? Lol I know I had to disable my ps5 from being 120 to find a game. But wasn’t the game only running at 60 fps all along even on next gen? Can someone give me a rundown lol

Now it will run 120, but only in offline modes. People have been playing practice mode at 120 and fell in love and are now furious because it isn't for online play... unless you are on Xbox
Also people are upset because sds hasn't addressed the community.

So basically it was available at 120 offline only, but after today it had to be capped at 60 right? Ppl were claiming xb was getting 120 online?

Xbox does, and has been, getting online 120. Playstation is capped at 60

My loyalty to Sony is evaporating by the minute. And it’s SDS’s fault, which is still owned by Sony if I’m not mistaken. Choosing to make the competition’s console more attractive by intentionally holding yours back. Excellent business model.

I’m acutely aware. I assumed for the last year that I “soon” would be able to as well on PS5.

And I do agree that playing on X with 120hz/60fps sounds better than playing at 60hz/60fps.

Yeah I don’t get it either. This isn’t new. The Xbox has been running at 120 on any monitor capable since it was released. This isn’t even the first attempt Sony has made to catch up. The first was to get rid of needing a 2.1 adapter which used to get me 120hz but isn’t necessary anymore
