Overall Player Ratings...

I've wondered for years how SDS comes up with players overall rating #.
You have players that have attributes that all are under 85 yet they're a Diamond Player somehow. Meanwhile a guy like Ken Giles is a 84 Gold and most of his attributes are 90+.
Anyone understand the math or algorithm? It certainly isn't based on there average attribute #...

A lot of factors come into play. Chapman is a diamond because of his fielding has on speed and 75 power splits. A guy like last Torres can mash the ball but lack of defense of speed where a guy like judge has overwhelming power and arm strength and is a diamond and gallo is not because of his 32 35 contact split with no vision

The huge divide with Poor Vision and Outstand plate discipline still gets me on guys like Gallo and Judge. For Gallo, he how can you have 100+ discipline and such poor vision? Don't you need to 'see' in order to know what to swing at? Lol.

Because vision is tied to strike outs and discipline to walks.

I still dont get it, I'm looking at the June 2017 Chase Anderson, which is an 89 overall. He has one individual stat that is 89 or up (90 vel). How on earth is this card an 89? Unless quirks are somehow factored in?
