The person that feels the need to announce that you’ve blocked someone, and then tag them, as you just did, have done on your main account, and admitted ownership of both by saying you will block me just like you did on your “other account.” The person that attacks on behalf of you like its their job. The person making victimhood claims about “the point of the thread from the beginning” when it’s your thread. It just takes some simple intuition to connect dots. This and the charade of doubling down on the lies when caught is the saddest thing I’ve seen here, by far. Please get help.

“You can fool some people sometimes, but you can’t fool all the people all the time.”

Bro, while everyone in this thread has gone a bit off the deep end you are acting like you were super nice and pleasant from the beginning. I think admitting your own faults here would go a long way.

I have faults, of course. We all do. But I don’t feel obligated to air them here.

As far as the deep end goes, one person and their 3 accounts posting here stands out in particular.

Definitely don't have any obligation to do anything on here, none of us actually know each other or owe each other anyone. From an outside observer at first I can see why they were annoyed by your posts, things escalated pretty quickly but I can understand the initial annoyance. That's all I'm trying to say, not trying to rehash or restart anything here.

Yes, I could have been more diplomatic. I didn’t predict that saying I wouldn’t read something because of its small sample size would have such an effect. I could have suggested they consider playing more online before writing an annual review. But I’m not sure that turns out any differently.

I prefer this thread stay up. Shame is not the best method, but can be a useful tool for changing behavior. And considering the capacity for lying on display, the evidence should remain easily accessible. Exhibit A above.

From my perspective the main issue starting this was you and owl questioning Raes' credentials. Then when Raes' presented his credentials and why he felt he was able to make this review you both attacked him as tho he was bragging or saying everyone needed to agree with him and respect his opinion. Things descended into madness from there with the help of everyone, myself included.

I agree with this view. I only bring that stuff up when being challenged. And Owl and Bob clearly did, it's there for everyone to see. You attack me, I'll defend myself. You'd do the same.

Well since you are already starting with the condescension all I will say is go read through the beginning of this thread again. If you don't think you were standoffish from the beginning then I think you aren't very honest with yourself when you speak about admitting your own flaws. None of us were perfect in this thread, you have admitted to being flawed but refuse to admit any in this thread and blame everyone else for what has happened. You had a part in it too

I honestly think the frustration people seem to have with the OP is that he seems to be VERY active on this forum. He seems to comment & post on almost every single post on here. Like he checks in on here multiple times an hour. While I have no problem with this personally, I’ve seen on other forums where people that constantly comment on everything often start to draw contempt from other members for some reason. I could be wrong but that’s my opinion based on past experience.

Bob does the exact same thing, yet you chose to point that argument towards me. He even accidentally liked one of my posts 2 days ago when there hadn't been any activity for a few hours. Unfortunately for him I was reading a different thread and I saw it before he quickly undid his mistake. You can read back and see how he replies even when he's not directly addressed. I do the same yes, but this is my thread isn't it? I created it. So its interesting that you point me out for this behavior, but not him. I know the answer because I know you liked some of his posts. You are biased towards his opinions, just like Owl is. Which is totally fine, but don't try to act like Switzerland when you are in fact biased towards one or the other.

You take this forum WAY TO SERIOUSLY

I already debunked any credibility you think you have in your own thread. Going around calling yourself a skilled player and bashing on others while you are in fact very average, that's a quick way to lose any sort of respect.

Lmao “debunked”. I’m not here for your respect. No one cares how many times you’ve posted in this forum. How is looking for legitimate concerns about the game bashing?

Criticizing other peoples skill level is your only comeback. Stats never tell the full story. Not every RS game is taken as serious as the last, especially once WS is made.

@raesone_psn said in My annual assessment of this game:

So I've been playing offline since release, grinding all the programs and what not. So during that time I always keep my opinion to myself, because we all know offline usually plays fine and you don't really run into the issues that could spoil your experience.

Today I've been playing the event all day long. And it started out okay I guess, some slugfests here and there and just getting my feet wet. Nothing out of the ordinary. But the more I played, the more recurring themes I encountered.

First and foremost, the amount of bloopies/flukies or whatever you wanna call them are simply ridiculous. I understand that it is a part of baseball and it is totally fine if they happen occasionally. But the volume of bad swings that get rewarded are just out of hand at this point. We all like hit variety and we all want contact hitters to be usable, but not if this is the trade off. And that's what I feel is happening here, these hits are a thing because of the complaints regarding lack of hit variety in the past in my opinion.

What I also noticed is that the game, once again, forces my perfectly executed pitches into the strike zone. This was a thing in 18 and it feels the exact same to me in that sense. I have given up staggering amounts of homeruns on offspeed pitches that I spotted almost in the dirt and executed perfectly, yet somehow ended up in the bottom of the strike zone. Why are perfectly executed pitches being punished? What's the point of mastering PPP, which was introduced to widen the skill gap mind you, if you're gonna reduce that skill gap once more by adding randomness to the pitching outcome?

Then I've noticed that contact hitting is broken. Again. Try it for yourself to have a laugh. I played 5 games in a row swinging with the contact button exclusively and I hit 430ft homeruns and got 110+ mph exit velocities all the same. We can no longer see our opponent's feedback, but I wouldn't be surprised if many of the players in this community do the exact same thing. Since it widens the timing windows, allows for more solid contact and still gives you the same exit velocities.. why would you ever normal swing or even power swing?

Then there is the overall performance of the game in terms of fluidity and choppiness. I play on PS5 on performance mode and I played in a handful of created stadiums and major league parks that once again induce frame drops and choppiness all around. As if I'm playing on my vanilla PS4 all over again. Try playing an online game at Target Field and you'll see what I mean.

Another thing that seriously irritated me is the amount of weak flyballs and even pop ups on swings where the ball is entirely in my buckshot, albeit in the top part of it. But that's what the game wants us to do, no? Lift the ball with power hitters? So that's what I'm aiming for and I get okay hits for weak pop ups. Again, this reminded me of MLBTS 18.

Last but not least (for now) is the amount of freeze offs STILL HAPPENING. Like how on earth can you not find the issues to this problem for all these years? I can't help but think that these people just don't care or have given up on this problem like "it's part of the game, get used to it". That's unacceptable and laughable in a sense.

I have tried my hardest to find some good things to say as well. I guess I do like the sound off the bat, especially during a perfect/perfect. I also like the fact that fielders have more urgency and you're able to gun a lot more people now with good throwing input. But that's about it.

I'm sorry, but the game is just not very good. Again. I hate that it gives me MLBTS 18 vibes, but that's really what it does. Hopefully the upcoming gameplay patch that has been confirmed will fix many of these issues. If not, I probably won't play very long.

    Edit:
One thing I forgot to mention, the PCI anchor. This feature was brought because people wanted to be able to have a sensitivity slider for the PCI. This is not that! The feature is terrible because it is basically guess pitch lite. People can just sit in a certain part of the zone and take away a whole part of the plate. I noticed that some people do this and don't swing until the ball comes into that part of the zone. I don't see how this has anything to do with skill and I think it's a terrible feature that should be removed asap or should be barred from online play.

This isn't an assessment, it is a gripe session like all the others disguised as a fair assessment. The same exact complaints whenever someone is unsuccessful online. Not that you are unsuccessful, but it is the same complaints. You even state throughout that most of these things have been around for years. I was hoping for incite, not a b*tch session.

Yet it is not a credential. It means he has good eye hand coordination. How does that make you an expert on the game? Does he know the coding? Does he know anything going on behind the scenes? Most experienced players know just as much as he does. Nothing at all surprising or unusual in his post. It is a repeat of a thousand other posts all jammed into one post. A waste of time for most of us to even read.

    Lmao credentials

Do you not know the definition of the word? Noone is saying being a top player at a game makes you a better person than anyone but it would be considered a credential when talking about the game.

Does being good at the game make you an expert? Not necessarily
Does being bad mean you know nothing? Not necessarily
But I think it would be a pretty safe assumption that most people that have consistently played the game at a high level for years have a better chance than the average Joe of having a good understanding of the game. So to me that would be a credential. Maybe you have a different definition of the word but from where I'm looking the definition fits here. Doesn't mean you have to like what he says by any means but he clearly understands the ins and outs of the game

Thank you for your constructive criticism.

Funny how trolls can troll all they want but when someone who is being trolled fights back suddenly they "take things too seriously."

People blame the victim instead of the perpetrator these days and it's hilarious. No accountability.

The amount of energy spent by people bashing my opinions or trying to discredit me for whatever reason is very amusing and very telling.

Every thread thread about the shady gameplay gets hijacked by the same people. Been this way for years….the mod person lets them call you every name in the book along with degrading comments. Since I’ve been vocal of the bad gameplay, if I were to start calling people names I’m certain the mod would ban me. He’s been doing that for years also to the anti gameplay members who are fed up.
