How the hell am I facing maxed out prestige diamond teams when I’m only 2-2 in spring training? Are these Smurf accounts that just spend endless amounts of money? How am I vs these teams when I don’t have a single diamond on my team. It’s not even fun at this point.

It has nothing to do with spending money. A lot of people play conquest before heading online. You can get some diamonds for free just from playing that, plus a lot of packs. You likely ran into some people who are just venturing into ranked, but played a lot offline. I haven't played ranked yet so I will also be in spring training when I start, and I have almost a full diamond team besides a couple of bullpen spots.
