Switch cross play not connecting

Can you play against other platforms on the switch ? Or it’s only for switch vs switch ?

I know I played against other consoles during early access. I turned off crossplay at some point since I could hardly see the ball and wanted a more even match up, but I couldn't find an opponent most of the time. I got tired of sitting there rotting in my chair and turned it back on, but I don't think I've matched up with a non-Switch opponent since. It takes forever to find an event game on Switch and it's almost instantaneous when I'm on Xbox. I was actually wondering myself if the cross play is bugged out after changing the setting and its still not searching for other platforms.

I tried to connect an exhibition match with a ps5 user and it kept saying waiting for user after accepting challenge. Yeah, I think it’s a connecting issue. Hopefully, they fix it.
