Position Player but Bat with Everyone?

I’ll be honest, I am not the biggest fan of pitching in MLB the Show, probably because I’m bad at it.

I want to buy ‘22 and create a franchise, and am curious, can I bat with the entire lineup but select a position player other than the pitcher similar to RTTS? Ideally I’d like to be a SS or 2B instead of pitching but I want to bat with everyone in Franchise.

I don't think so.

It has been a while since I have done it. You can player lock with a player but then you just play that player.
Can you just advance to the next half inning and skip pitching?

Ok good to know. I want to see some of the defensive side and not bat over and over and over again, but wanted to do it as RTTS style.

I want to bat with the entire rotation on the White Sox but play as Anderson or Moncada on Defense like RTTS where you have certain moments.
