Game isn’t too grind friendly anymore
-
Why did we get rid of the option to unlock all TA players and then also get rid of the inning bosses as a whole, it’s just less content and less that can be unlocked for free. I get SDS wants to make some more profit but by that point just find a way to make TA cards obtainable through either pay or playing.
-
I disagree. On stream, they said the programs would be varied in length and variety. I was also bummed at not get all FOTF players but TA last year ruined the game, the objectives were easy and not time consuming at all, and made it so essentially everyone had the same lineup. In terms of money making, yeah if you want all the FOTF players you need to pay for them but do you really want all of them? I might take 3 guys in the NL east but the rest of the cards arent all that great from the stats we have seen. In terms of grinding just play innings of ranked seasons. You don't even have to win. Bottom line is people hate change even if the change benefits them in the long run. Embrace the change and see where it takes you. Now if in a month or two content is stale, I'll be the first criticize SDS, but give them a chance. Game hasn't even released yet.

They didn't get rid of the option to unlock all TA players; they're just limiting you to a select few at a time.
That way you don't have someone, that has no life or finds an exploit, get all 30 on the first night.
-
Honestly It might before the best. I remember completing the field of dreams and all-star TA very quickly. If you knew how to create/work a lineup, they'd be finished in no time.

I got all 30 in a week last year by playing showdowns because I wanted Jackie, it was so fun and rewarding.

I couldn’t give less of a [censored] whether someone could get all 30 in one night, and you shouldn’t either. I only care about the fact that we’re not even getting half of the content we got last year, with most of it behind a paywall for no reason.

I Want An Oompa Loompa Now

Yeah, I personally took my time completing programs because I want to enjoy and play and grind. I do want to collect every card and I will, but I don't care if it takes a while. But based on what I'm seeing, I can have the Offline content done very quickly and won't have much to do while I wait out the programs. I hope I'm wrong.

It's not behind a paywall. The other 18 players will be released in packs that you can earn later on in the game's cycle.
Yes, if you want ALL 30 NOW; then you'll have to pony up the stubs.
But if you wait; you'll eventually get them all for free.
Just like @KDClemson_MLBTS stated. He got all 30 TA 1 42 Series players last year by just playing Showdown.
I don't remember the points per Showdown they had at the beginning of the year; but if in not mistake the TA path was 150 pts.
Let's say Showdown gave you 30pts per completion and you were good enough to jump straight to the final mission and beat it within 20 mins.
That means 5 Showdowns; which would take you roughly 1 hr and 30 mins would get you all 5.
Multiple that by 6 and you had all the TA 42 players, plus all the packs, in about 9 hrs of straight gameplay.
That's what they wanted to stop. They even said it in the stream. TA took over the game and it wasn't meant to do that. It was meant to give people something to work towards between content drops.
Then you eventually had the same people, who did completed the whole TA Stage 1 program in 9 hours complain that there wasn't any more content to be earned.

Are you blind or just really, really bad at simple math? Before, we got an Inning program and a separate Team Affinity program. You could earn an inning boss as well as 30 team affinity players. Now we get 12 players in the featured program, and you don’t even get to choose 6 of them.

You literally don’t know when or if we will get them later though. They’re going to be super expensive while the program is going on, and they’re going to be even more expensive when it expires. Based on the 42 cards last year, SDS won’t provide enough for the average player to buy the rest for a very long time. Like I said, I don’t give a [censored] how fast someone completes it. That has zero relevance to me or my game, and it’s weird that you care so much about it.

I’m just considering that it’s unrealistic to compare a 9 month life cycle of content against a single night of information that projects 4 weeks. Compare day 1 to day 1 as you like, but the larger picture (entire life cycle) is more important (maybe just to me).

When did I ever say I’m talking about the full game cycle? I’m obviously talking about day 1. But you could very easily infer that if they’re doing stuff like this on day 1, they likely aren’t going back to how it was before later in the year.
