Pick an amount you don't mind losing, and buy some stubs. I'm not going to get into a debate about no money spent vs real money. I know it is a waste of money, but I also look at it as entertainment which is always a bad investment. How much would you spend on going to the movies? Or going out to the bars? We dropped 200 bucks at a steakhouse last Saturday. Afterward you have nothing to show for it but you had fun and that is all that matters. And if you are going to spend money on the game, do it early, it provides the best value and most return for your money. Spending money to rip packs in December is a terrible idea.

If I don't own a home, can I just take out a mortgage on somebody else's? If so, can I pick a really expensive one and have somebody else on the hook for payback???? I'd like to enlist @SchnauzerFace and his team of butlers for this.

That is a good point. I had usually bought $100 worth of stubs to start the year, but given how easy cards/stubs were to get last year I thought I'd trim it to $50. But I guess I won't really know until tonight, might not need any if it was like last year.

Personally I would but 100 packs....and save the rest for buying cards in the market vs packs. You'll get who you want alot easier
