Yeah, I'm not sure how the hype normally is, but their marketing plan of posting single attributes of current players like Degrom 98 H/9 or Donaldson 87 power v. Lefties feels really flat. There hasn't been any content for DD previewed. The legend reveals have been ok, hopefully they ramp it up in the final weeks, it's just odd that the game is 9 days from early release and they haven't provided any info about DD yet.
I know someone will say they've had the streams about Co-op (which doesn't appeal to me in a baseball game, but I'm sure a lot of people are excited about it), commentary (I listen to music haha) and some of the gameplay and modes have had good info but we really don't know much about the DD at all. Who are the bosses? Inning Programs? XP? What will team Affinity look like?
I say all this, and honestly I've already bought the game and am confident I'll love it, I just wish there was more to talk about.
I'm thinking those single attribute players are going to be the TA1 set players, I could be wrong though. It might also have a few of the new Legend packs in it as well as Ballin is a habit and normal packs + stubs and XP.
I think those are just live series attributes they are revealing. I don't see that there would be a point to releasing a degrom thats 6 overall worse than his live series in TA1. might even be franchise attributes since the most recent one is soto with 99 discipline, when his live series DD card would probably be over 100

I don’t think it has to do with legends but more about the lack of gameplay innovations. Pretty sure we’re getting 21 rebranded as 22. It just hasn’t really moved the needle for me at all.

Last year was cross platform, stadium creator and a legends trailer, this year we have a weird Randy Johnson situation, The Jeter cover Troll, the other legends have been ok, but it’s hard to top Mays, Mantle, and Aaron coming in the game, like the last few years... I really think they need to reveal some DD stuff before the push the button stream and the hype will come.

It's not just you. Legend reveals are not as big, no changes to franchise, don't know much about DD yet. I think the hype will rapidly build on the day of the DD stream (March 31st)

I must kindly object and say you’re ridiculous……maybe you missed it, but Soto has 99 discipline….99……..that’s the max….

You are going to be real disappointed when they are revealing franchise ratings instead of DD. Don't get me wrong I would be on board with attributes maxing at 99, but I would like confirmation first
Edit: they actually have to be revealing franchise attributes now that I looked into it more. The gold Joe Mauer in the co-op feature premiere has 102 contact vs R

Nothing really big and new this year, gameplay wise. Graphics look the same, slight adjustments to pitching, same old hitting.
Only thing that could make it new and exciting is what they do with offline modes and any revamp to RS. Not optimistic though.

Last year we were all locked down with Covid and releasing a new video game like MLB 21 was a huge win.
And it was the first MLBTS game on next gen consoles.
Also it was first year on XBOX and that carried a lot of hype for fans that had not had a real baseball game on their system for a decade.
Switch crowd doesn't seem like this game is a big deal to them yet.

This is me to a T. This is the only game I have played in the last year and I play it way too much. Last year I couldn’t wait for 21 To drop, but outside of co-op mode, they have not announced a thing that has gotten me excited. The silly attribute Twitter reveals make it worse as it makes me think they really have nothing to tempt us with and it will be just a cut and paste as opposed to really maximizing the new generation systems which should happen this year.
I pre-ordered weeks ago, but haven’t turned the game on in almost a week which is super rare, that’s speaks to then”meh”. Hope they surprise me in about 8 days.

Lol that’s just the “suggested section” my man. I don’t think MLB has ever broke into the top few pages let alone front page. It’s usually below Pokémon Gold. Not Pokémon go. Gold. The game boy version from the 90s. The biggest MLB stream I’ve seen from non Devs was BeardownAUs freeze off that barely got above 1000 views. Goldy might stream for a day and multiply the MLB viewcount by 300 but that won’t last.
Maybe if SDS could find that “host” button they could help grow the game on twitch but they seem extremely out of touch.

I think they spent way too much time trying to figure out how they could put a functioning game on the Switch Crossplay instead of concentrating more on Nex Gen systems. They seem to be taking a step back.

No one is really hyped to fight with the servers…again..and then read 1500 complaint posts about the servers…again. It’s the calm before the storm, most of us have to mentally prepare for another summer grind as well.

Everyone knows it will be the same [censored] catered to players that suck.
From 2017 late jammed bombs and texas leaguers to last years corner painting PPP and no pci/secondary pci home runs/foul tips off the elbows.
It’s fun to play, but come on now.
People know SDS has people bowling with the bumpers on against people playing the game straight up and they will never admit it. It’s a game, why not just let people fail.
Have a real baseball mode and a kiddie lane/guard rails no gutter balls learn how to play mode…..

First year I won't be buying day one since 17. I just got burnt out on moments after the last couple years. Quit playing in October or so and honestly haven't missed it.
I'll probably pick it up later in the summer on sale, but right now I have zero excitement.
